If that's the accent they're going for, they really should've gotten Michael Imperioli to do Mario's voice.
And Drea de Matteo for Peach.

Chris Pratt coming for Garfield next
not sure what i expected pratt to sound like, but it definitely wasn't that.
there's just nothing of note there.

the odd thing is, i don't know if it would have been even worse if he tried to put on some Mario accent/voice.
Just casting him was bad, there was no way to save it from there. Shame because I think the rest of the casting is great.

They told Pratt to remember what it was like to be fat in S2 of Parks and Rec and to just use that voice
Watched American Werewolf in London for the first time last night. Very good - obviously the effects still hold up and the transformation scenes are great. Kind of wish the horror stayed akin to the opening scenes on the Yorkshire Moors but yeah... can't have it all I suppose.
Not quite up there with The Thing for me for practical horror stuffs but I'd watch it again for sure.
There being porn cinemas in London highstreets in '81 is crazy to me too. £2.80 in as well, that's an expensive wank.

By WoodenLung Go To PostSounds fine to me.imo should have got valverde for the mario voice
But Charlie Day will be where the real gold is, of course
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostLittle kids won't care what he sounds like.
Are we pretending the audience for Mario isn't 35 + single men with girl anime avatars on reset? Little kids want a Fishstick and Peely movie

By DiPro Go To PostI think Pratt sounds fine i'm just sad for Charles. I get why they went with an A lister tho.
Listening to Charles Martinet for over an hour and a half would be HELL. Pratt was a shit choice, but Martinet wouldn't have been good.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostHad no idea that was Chris Pratt.shanks taking the piss
Sounds fine.
Looked like it will be a fun film.

By Not Go To PostWatch it in 144p for real Nintendo effect
No, haven't even ranked the other actors and their roles yet in the mario movie*
*even though you can't hear them in the trailer.

Can we skip Executive Decision since he was only in it for like 5 minutes?
What a fucking scam that was

Almost shed a tear the way they did my boy
Hellraiser's release continues to be terrible. Not only there's no release date or platforms announced outside the US, it seems it's only 1080p on Hulu.
Well, Hellraiser was a disappointment. It's still the third or maybe even the second best movie in the franchise but is because, even though I love a lot of things about Hellraiser, the movies aren't very good.
Hell, the best one is the original and that was directed by someone who tricked his way into getting the job and had to run down to the library after getting it because he didn't knew a fucking thing about film making.
There are some good things about the new one. The art direction was great for most of the part, the design of the cenobites was fantastic and I really liked the new Pinhead.
I'm going to have to think about some of the changes in the lore. Probably going to have to watch it another time to make a decision but hopefully on a 4K version because the bitrate on this one was garbage.
Definite cons : the movie is way too fucking long, there's absolutely no need for it to be 2h, it has one of the worst main characters ever, the twist is so predictable, the cenobites feel so underpowered and my last con might be a bit picky but it also makes this movie at times seem like a bigger budget version of the really shitty sequels, it's so fucking obvious the movie is shot in Eastern Europe (and I am saying this without looking up where it was shot) that them pretending that it's happening in America is almost the most unrealistic thing about the movie.
Edit: I looked it up, it was shot in Bulgaria.

By NiceGuy Go To PostStop looking forward to reboots tbhThere are plenty of good horror reboots.
And as I said, this is easily in the top 3 of Hellraiser movies.
Made it about 15 minutes into the goonies before cutting it off. I can see the appeal but the child acting was so bad

That ain’t the same voice from Parks and Rec and Marvel.
Sitting waiting for Amsterdam to come on and seeing the trailer for Chazelle's new film reminds me that Margot Robbie is a bit one note innit.

saw uncharted last night. playstation productions are off to a very rough start. looked like it was made on a very low budget, too.
more importantly: there's zero chemistry between the main leads who don't even act like their videogame counter parts, which, if they had, could've made it a fun watch.
holland is in spider-man mode whereas wahlberg, whom i've never liked, is clearly just phoning it in. and then he ends every line with "kid" because, you know, that's what sully says in the games.

the sequence at the end was alright, i guess. so was chloe.

Have you seen Vikander's Tomb Raider M9? I just saw it recently and it was awful too, but in this case because they based it off the new (now old I guess) Lara. It's just as bad as those games.
I'm just wondering how you think it compares.

Amsterdam was alright, can't endorse you spending £8.50 on a tickie. It's good to see Christian Bale having fun and having an acceptable BMI, that's the main thing. Great actor, mid resumé.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostShe absolutely is and that’s being polite. Bad actressI posted that not knowing that Robbie was in this too. It's that her American accent is terrible in everything she's in.
