shut up gaard
spielberg has made some memorable stuff, but most of the time, he's just... alright? not that there's anything wrong with that.
the past two decades:
the post - okay
the bfg - why was this made
bridge of spies - alright
war horse - have no interest in seeing this, looks like a hallmark production
tintin - fun
indy 4 - eh...
munich - good
wotw - good
the terminal - watchable, i guess
catch me if you can - the best (and most fun) film he's made in the 00s. i've seen this a bunch of times; it doesn't get old.
minority report - i have to revisit this, but thought it was quite good
a.i. - i... don't think i've ever had any interest in finishing this

Spielberg has made some awesome stuff but yeah, his newer ones are mostly fine with a few meh.
West Side Story is good as his latest one I saw.

By bud Go To Postimportant announcement: hook is underrated. childhood favourite.Hook was a childhood favourite for me as well.
But I caught it again a few months ago, and the flaws are much more obvious now. I wouldn't recommend revisiting it
I saw it again a few months ago and thought it was fine too. Couple of nice moments but mostly nostalgia. You had to be there kinda thing.
Seeing Maggie Smith in old makeup was a trip because that's pretty much the only way I remember her now lol. It's like the last 40 years didn't happen.

Watched some movies recently
The Northman
- 30 mins too long. Too many wolf/magic scenes. But still decent watch 6/10
The Florida Project
- Got gripped in their world, love the way its shot, put me in the same sort of feel as the classic movie Kids from 1995. Good length and pacing too. 8/10
After Yang
- Meh, kinda interesting idea but failed to grab my attention. 5/10
On the Count of Three
- A bit hectic, though i guess thats expected with the subject matter. Still though, was decent watch. 6/10
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero
- Entertaining, nice animation and great focus on the non main characters. 8.5/10
Nope
- Was the first half any good? Nope. Was the second half a lot better? Nope. Should have been shorter. 6/10
Where the Crawdads Sing
- Pretty cool movie. Slightly too long. 6.5/10

Reading about it and The Whale seems like a film I honestly couldn’t care less about. Aronofsky is such a one-note filmmaker.
Bullet Train - quite entertaining, didn't think it would be so comedic, expected something more serious but was still good. 7/10

Looks like they're trying to do way too much. If Damien Chazelle falls on his face, the backlash and revisionism on his previous films will go up a notch.

this is the first time i've looked at pitt and thought "damn... he looks kinda old."
turkey neck's coming through.
it's over, lads.
By s y Go To PostConstantine aka OG morbiusThis is actually kind of spot on,
But I love that first film.
My local cinema is closed tomorrow. It's an Irish chain ffs. Edit: I forgot it's a bank holiday.
Will have to see See How They Run on Tuesday and then a film called Casino Royale on Wednesday.
Outside chance of catching Irish language comedy Róise and Frank if my COVID jab is prompt.
