New York Ninja was alright. Fun to watch with friends but not near as entertaining as Miami Connection. I did like that they used some famous B movie actresses of the time to dub over the characters, made it feel authentic. (Cynthia Rothrock and Linnea Quigley specifically)

But they interviewed her on the making of and she still kinda fine
By Freewheelin Go To PostTTT is a slog of a film but Helm’s Deep is one of the best battles ever put on celluloid imoI dont think its a slog - it is a jarring tonal shift from the more fantastical FOTR.

Will probably see John Michael McDonagh's new film The Forgiven later in the week. Although I'm less enthusiastic now that I read the brothers are English and not really Irish.
Was looking up what's on next week in my local cinema - in the hope George Miller's would be there - and the only thing added is Michael Flatley's Blackbird (2018).

By bud Go To Postthey should’ve made that movie twenty years ago.And still cast Daniel Radcliffe
Fall was some good dumb fun. Total shlock, the letterboxd crowd dissing it but I enjoyed it.
Looking the director up on IMDb: he directed a Sky Original geezer teaser where Russian terrorists (Pierce Brosnan and Ray Stevenson) launch an attack at Upton Park that only Dave Bautista can stop.

Apparently he became public domain in 2022 lmfao
Life of Pi is much better on rewatching it.
CGI towards the end is sus, but it landed most of things it set out to do.

Excited for this. As much as people shit on the storytelling in The Revenant, it's technical and visual excellence is still worthy of praise

i will need a third 5tb harddisk soon.
That Blu-ray of In The Mood For Love is almost certainly the new and worse “remaster”. This dude really went and ruined his old films.
He was a very good filmmaker who had his way one too many times until there was no one left there to reign him in.

By s y Go To PostThat one take was a mess and should've been edited down. The editing was all over the place.

And Inarritu's ass is constantly saved by his DP.
Inarritu would be nothing without Lubezki. The fact he won best director over Miller is genuinely disgraceful and makes me want to do an anger.
Yea it's infuriating. Leo's Oscar is honestly tainted by me. He's had much better performances under much better directors.
