i dont know why three billboards did just about nothing for me, but... yeah. loved seeing macs mum though
I really enjoyed Three Billboards. Seen it two or three times. Great performances. Stuff with Harrelson always gets me.
Who is that guy and why is he always posted on here? I never click the videos cause I don't want him to get even .00001 of a cent off my view.

Cruise missle plus the lackluster new roster is definitely the beginning of the end for superhero movies
A bit surprised that Ron Howard's movie about the Thai cave rescue is apparently good.
Howard is definitely the right director for this kind of movie but it would be easy to fuck it up.
Kind of funny that on the middle of all the news about HBO Max, most of the big streaming services are going to have a good weekend.
Prime has Thirteen Lives, Disney+/Hulu has Prey and Netflix has The Sandman.

By s y Go To Postwatching the tony hawk documentary…just kill me if I ever get Alzheimer's man.It is such a good documentary. I think I could listen to Rodney Mullen talk for hours.
This segment is so good.
I just realized that Evil Dead Rise is an HBO Max Original.
Hoping that won't get cancelled. Budget must have not been that big, word online from the early screenings is good, it should do well if they release it around October and the Evil Dead isn't really a blockbuster series that would be "damaged" by releasing a streaming only movie.
The director posted on Twitter "Keep the faith" today so it's probably not cancelled yet.

Still not enough for me to hang onto Showtime

Amid the shelving of the HBO Max film Batgirl and the clear desire of Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav to find new leadership for the DC universe, DC Films president Walter Hamada has come to the verge of exiting the studio and consulted with counsel, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Hamada has now agreed to remain in his post at least until the Oct. 21 release of the Dwayne Johnson film Black Adam, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. “He’s pausing,” says a source. “The decision has not been made to make this adversarial, yet.”
A source with knowledge of the situation says Hamada was upset at not being consulted and concerned about the impact on those involved in making the film. On Aug. 2, before talent and their representatives had been informed of the decision, the New York Post broke the news that the film had been shelved. The Post reported that the film had low test scores and said a source described it as “irredeemable.”
Hamada assumed his role in 2018 during a fraught time for DC, which was struggling to find its footing after Justice League (2017) missed at the box office and there was no clear path forward for its cinematic universe.
During his tenure, Hamada has forged relationships with filmmakers such as Marvel favorite James Gunn, bringing him on board for The Suicide Squad (2021) and keeping him in the fold for Peacemaker, a spinoff for HBO Max. Rather than strive for Marvel’s closely interconnected universe of films, DC’s properties under his watch were only loosely connected — and sometimes took place in entirely separate universes, such as Joker (2019), which overperformed with more than $1 billion at the box office and earned Joaquin Phoenix a best actor Oscar, and Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022), which brought in $769.2 million globally, a strong figure for the pandemic.
Prey
Fairly enjoyable movie with some terrible dialogue but that's to be expected with these movies I guess. Good pacing and soundtrack. CGI was ehh. I actually think this movie would have been great with 0 dialogue. The only other film I'm familiar with in this franchise is the first Predator, not sure I missed on much by not seeing the others.
6/10

The boxer getting his head punched off was hilarious though.
By s y Go To PostTony Hawk doc got real boring about half way through. Cool story broThey just skim through the late 90s and early 2000s which is when he became a true pop culture icon. It's bizarre. You could do a doc on the games or the 900 alone. Hell they did a 30 for 30 about mat hofmans mega ramp and it was incredible
By Not Go To PostWow there's a full Comanche dub of Prey with the same castThat's should've shot it in full Comanche, ain't nobody got time for a dub.
That's pretty cool
Watched X last night. Didn’t care for it. I swear all these A24 horror movies are so bad.
Bodied bodies bodies please be good

Really liked Prey. I've seen some complaints about the fact that the Predator is introduced so early on but getting to see it evaluate the natural order of predators and moving up the ladder in terms of adversaries was great.Amber Midthunder and Dakota Beavers were very good.
It was a very enjoyable time, I'll probably going to watch the Comanche dub soon.

The stuff about X I can agree with. Thought it was ok, but nothing more.
But big wrong on the rest. Imagine not liking The Witch.
and I know you hate Ari Aster, but Hereditary and Midsommar good too. Some people also call The Lighthouse horror (not sure I agree with that), but that's great as well.
checked out their website and they're about to release a film written and directed by jesse eisenberg.
scust.

I’ll watch Men next. Half of my friends love it the other half hate it… we’ll see.

Good Bad movie classic right here
Thirteen Lives on Amazon was ok. Mortensen and Farrell's accents took some getting used to but they played the boring middle-aged English papangu roles well.
Problem is the whole film kind of has that energy. Weirdly sterile and unemotional for a film about such a perilous situation.
Proper 3/5 film.

I also enjoyed the film but the beginning was such a shitty introduction to the tribe people. The interactions among them were basically millennials dressed as indigenous people. That really ruined the mood of the first part of the film for me. The rest was really good. Sloppy start but overall a very nice film
Netflix’s new Korean action movie really is something. Makes The Grey Man look the Citizen Kane of the genre.
It is meant to be one long shot and at times it is fucking jarring as fuck as they try to make that work.
I got to say though, I don’t think I have seen a movie with as many deaths.
Barely a 1/10.
