Schooling is an interesting point. I’m not au fait with your curriculum but the feeling that I get is there is very little that is taught that would paint Britain in a bad light. 1066, Henry VIII and 1914-1918 + 1939-1945 I’d imagine are the main topics.
From my experience colonialism was basically just taught enough to form a basis for Britain's place in the world, from which the actual topic of the curriculum springs from. We had an Empire, so this and that happened. These countries were a part of it until such date.
The how and why of it was barely mentioned. Not glorified as much as it seems it was in a lot of (most?) other schools, but not criticised either. Besides being the truth and the bedrock of the country we are now, and the psyche we have, it should be taught more as a matter of interest imo. Especially Ireland given how close we are geographically, how far back our histories go, and how much of an effect Britain has had on your culture for centuries. You'd think that the Good Friday Agreement was the end of it rather than a milestone. The damage can't be undone, but we sure as fuck don't make much of an attempt to understand it, let alone apologise for it.
From a personal interest viewpoint, I wish the East India Company had been a major topic in history class. It's state-sponsored ultra-capitalism in an age where it came as a surprise to me to learn about such a thing existing at all.
Chiming in on the Greenwood situation, what an awful thing to happen. It’s brave of Harriet Robson to have come forward with this, and as has been said by others, my first thought was about how awful it must have got if she had the foresight to know rape was coming and record it. My biggest hope is that the upcoming legal proceedings give her vindication, and not just more harassment.

Have there been any good Tennis games recently? I loved VT3 back at the PS3 launch, but doesn’t feel like there’s been much since
Auba off and all the other jounos are saying we aren't getting a striker this window, this club is a joke.
By JesalR Go To PostKuluseViking, Bentancur, and strong rumours we’re trying for O. Dembele. It’s Fabio Paratici’s island of misfit toys.
Good thing we’ve solved our key worry positions of an attacking right back, creative midfielder, striker, and left sided CB. Great job Fabio
We have problems in pretty much every position on the pitch so any player who can help us has to be a positive. Kane, Son and Lloris are the only three players we have who are untouchable and none of them even have adequate backup.
Surely these two Juve players can give us more than Gil/Ndombele/Lo Celso//Dele.

True, they could be delayed indefinitely, like the file(s) on Kincora boys home where you had amongst others, allegedly, a member of the royal family (Mountbatten) visiting and abusing boys.
I don’t see Aubameyang being a particular bad decision from Barcelona’s perspective.
If it doesn’t work out, they only pay his wages for a couple of months, if it does, they get a world class goal scorer.
I don’t understand Arsenal’s January window.

Re Greenwood, it adds a whole new layer to him not getting called up for England, and the extremely non-specifc reasons given for it.

I was thinking about that....but surely not
By Laboured Go To PostRe Greenwood, it adds a whole new layer to him not getting called up for England, and the extremely non-specifc reasons given for it.It's pretty revealing, yeah.
Would be very curious to know who knew what when.
There's a distinct possibility it was an open secret (United, England, media, etc).
By Andrew Go To PostIt's pretty revealing, yeah.As I mentioned before, there were comments on Twitter and Reddit about Mason Greenwood when the Mendy stuff came out.

Someone mentioned that he knew about it from a contact in the press but it was kept quiet by the papers.
Seen a few people say that a caller on 606 was talking about a situation with Mason but he was cut out.
The Portuguese Fabrizio Romano says we are selling a player and buying another on the next few hours.
We already sent Tiago Tomás out on low, we need more players, not less.
Probably is Tabata leaving and Marcus Edwards (on the bench right now for Guimarães) coming on.
While Edwards is the better player, Tabata is very useful.

Well, this one doesn't make much sense though from the father (if that is indeed his comments). Hacked or not hacked I think he could have made a stronger statement.

Weird statement, don't really know what to make of it.

Father comes across as a shit head, worried about the bag is he?
By Kidjr Go To PostDoes she have to press charges?
No.
But if she really doesn't want to and she's the primary witness in a case it makes it very difficult for the CPS to prosecute if she does not co-operate.
By Kidjr Go To PostDoes she have to press charges? From what I have read, no.
It can be compelling evidence but ultimately the decision is made by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Yeah this is the point I was making earlier, I hoped the deleting of the insta stuff wasn't a sign that she isn't willing to cooperate (which I get, I mean fuck me her life is going to be very shit now for a good while). And that statement from her father doesn't fill me with confidence they want him to really go down for it.
Watching the end of the match between Vizela X Guimarães to see if there's any indication of a goodbye from Marcus Edwards.

Wonder if they've been offered some £. Hope he doesn't get away with it and the club/England should still be fucking done with him.

Greenwood, what the fuck? Lock him up immediately.
And, we've been hearing rumors for ages, even Ole was on the "if he keeps his head right" train forever, then being inexplicably kicked from the NT, etc. Which we thought was unfair without knowing any details other than his and Foden's escapades...
I'm starting to think everyone already knew and were just playing us for fools. How do you allow him to play stil... Motherfuckers. I hope the girl gets as far away from him at possible.
