Memories
Might be a bit too optimistic to expect a fee on top of Sevilla covering his wages. But if it ends in them or another club buying him I'll be happy enough.
By Hixx Go To PostQuite a few players have gone to City and not looked great the first year. He's worth giving another year. It's not like he's been bad. Going from being a key part of a counter attacking team to a cog in a dominant team doesn't happen overnight.Yepppp hixx this post is extremely true

Hodgson did a decent job at Palace. He really should've let that be his final role in football. Not joining a batshit team and getting sacked within 10 weeks.
Are we just going to become Real Madrid's dumping grounds
Could Jovic finish the open goal Laca missed yesterday

Jovic is a good player but going to Real Madrid was a dumb move for him. Absolute worst club to go to for any young player with something to prove.

May as well do a few months at Watford and make a couple of million for the grandkids innit

By Kidjr Go To PostIs he really a complete dud Frustrated? What are his positive attributes would you say, if any?His only positive attribute that he's relatively still young.
Complete dud bro.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostNo he's not, I know because I follow the team he plays for and seen him play. And? Sports, like many things in life aren't so binary and Jovic not doing well in Madrid can be down to many things. If he wasn't a good footballer he wouldn't have been signed to your club in the first place. I've followed his career a lot longer than you have and there is a good player in there.

I mean good player is all a bit relative isn't it. Some would argue a footballer in the Danish second division is good, cause he's still a lot better than the average lad at football.
So gotta see it in the context of whatever club or league they are in. And he's a bit fucking dog dirt at the level of real Madrid/loliga. By your logic, every footballer who ever signed for a big team is a good player? Drenthe legend and all.

That is not an environment conducive for a young footballer's growths. He was banging in goals for fun that season prior to his transfer to Real Madrid and the Bundesliga vs. La Liga isn't a big gulf in quality, if there is any.

Look at someone like Tammy Abraham. Was slated a lot last season, by me included at times, and now he's playing very well in Serie A. While we've spunked 100m on Lukaku who can barely string a pass together most games. So rather than Abraham being shit, his performances and record at Chelsea could be down to many other factors and the context of his role in the team, other players around him, the team setup, manager, etc. etc. So much of football is about systems and external factors beyond a footballer's own raw ability. Jovic also at Madrid had to battle many injuries and was missing a lot of games in his first season and got loaned to Germany again right after.
I was always team Tammy, cause i am soccer expert. He was good at Chelsea too. #fucktuchel
There's other young players doing well at Real Madrid. Can't blame it all on the club, that he has been consistently bad. Can blame some on the system and how he's setup, but I feel like I've seen him enough to be fairly sure he's never going to make it at a top 10 club in the world like Madrid.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostFrustrated's attitude is precisely why young players do not thrive at Madrid lol. What?
You know which young players are good and play at Madrid? Vini, Federico, Camavinga, Rodrygo, Militao and Modric. Young players not thriving at Madrid is a myth, our motto is to mix the young with the more established older players. Every now and then a young player doesn't work out and we take that risk, and ship them off.
I'm telling you Jovic is absolute dog shit. Mentally and physically the dude is a total dud. He's not even 1/5th the player Morata is.
By Perfect Blue Go To Postand the Bundesliga vs. La Liga isn't a big gulf in quality, if there is any.Nah, you don't believe that.
Fucking hell you won a recent CL and outplayed a weakened and broken Madrid team and now you think the league is some third world country tier. We don't have to go far back to see La Liga dominance and the quality of players, I suspect we'll see more of that soon enough, as soon as the likes of Barca and Atletico fix their finances again, we're already on our way but missing a couple pieces.
It's definitely a bit rich coming from a Chelsea fan. It's only recently youth players at Chelsea have been given a chance.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostIt's definitely a bit rich coming from a Chelsea fan. It's only recently youth players at Chelsea have been given a chance. What's a bit rich? You seem to be confused and think I believe Chelsea is some bastion of youth players, otherwise wtf does me being a Chelsea fan have to do with anything.

I just said the league isn't that much better or worse than the Bundesliga... that's it. You're the one conjuring up straw men to argue against.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostRespectively have to disagree with you tonight neighbor. That’s cool, fair enough brother.
However, I do take issue with you spelling neighbour the American way
Some players just need that right environment to thrive, Salah, Vardy, Mendy, so many players that were never considered good enough at the start eventually do develop into that, it's not even about Madrid or any club in general.
That is not to say I think Jovic may suddenly become a world beater at Arsenal but I mean, Odegaard was also a Madrid reject a year ago..

By cRrusheR Go To PostSevilla was his preferred choice? Why is that so funny to me?Because you're a premface
I remember the time good players went to Madrid and turned to shit because of the toxic environment which meant other teams could make bargains.
By inky Go To PostVlahovic to JuveHow do they keep getting away with it? I thought they were broke....
By cRrusheR Go To PostSevilla was his preferred choice? Why is that so funny to me?You do know that Sevilla are second in La Liga and are just 4 pts off the top? That's certainly a much better situation than where Utd is atm. Given they are willing to cover his salary and pay a loan fee, he is going to play a lot more football, in a stable club than whatever is going on with unstable Utd.
