For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange's help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.
By s y hulud Go To PostJust finished it. It was fun and I like where it left things off for future movies 🤠Did you watch the previous movie? What were your thoughts on it?
By unknown Go To PostDid you watch the previous movie? What were your thoughts on it?The previous spider man movies? They were aight but I liked the raimi movies more. The Amazing duo movies were cheeks. The one is ok, I just like how it sets stuff up for the future.
Dafoe was great as expected.
I've only seen the ads but Electro was one of the worst, laziest villains in any of the Spiderman movie but he plays a prominent role in this one?

Lizard probably didn't have to be in this one.
Worth the risk of getting Covid
Fucking theater was packed and everyone cheered and clapped for callbacks
It was really great and got me teary eyed :(

Great apology for how much the MCU butchered Spidey. Took 6 movies but Peter Parker is finally Spider-man. Love the suit at the end. Right out of Ditko's sketch books. Garfield was so good man. Give him more time to shine please. Bring him back for Secret War and give him as much screen time as possible.
The crowd was hyped with every introduction. When Andrew saves MJ and you see his eyes when he realizes she's okay. The women in the crowd went wild lol

A couple of guys cheered and clapped and i was like wtf is this when did this happen here. Turns out they were americans. Crisis avoided.
I fucking loved it. So much to unpack. The Matt Murdock cameo solidifies what's going on in Hawkeye is about to get real. Those two series are about to be merged into one. MCU Spider-Man finally feels deep grief and understands that he can't be near people he loves, otherwise they'll get hurt, just like all other versions of Spider-Man we've seen. I figured he'd leave MJ alone. The "with great power comes great responsibility" line is basically the death spell for anyone in Peter's life. In any universe. It's nice that Spidey is no longer Peter Stark Jr., they needed to nerf and humble him a little bit. I loved that Tobey was the wise and old Spider-Man who's basically figured out most of his shit. Garfield is somewhere in the middle of figuring his life out. And Tom Holland is at the very beginning stages…in a way this is his new genesis. All 3 Spidey's together were epic, they gave them actual time together too, not just a throwaway 5 min cameo. And Doc Oc being one of the heros was a great touch. New Dr. Strange movie is going to be absolutely insane. The What If…? universe's evil Dr. Strange has escaped his captivity. And a piece of Venom's symbiote has been left behind in the MCU. How long until that planted seed turns into something? Okay, geeky rant over. This was everything I had hoped for the movie to be.
Just saw it and loved it.
I really want to be done with Marvel, but they make some fun films.
My only complaint.
wasn’t happy that poat credit scene was a trailer for Dr Strange 2. Didn’t wan’t to know a lot of that shit, but my mate said I have to go watch What If now.

Easily my favourite MCU Spider-Man (which is a low bar) but it made me appreciate the time before a cinematic universe more than anything else.
I just want to see Peter Parker living in a one bed apartment and delivering pizzas while Aunt May is on the verge of destitution.
None of this space wizard shit. Real human emotions and struggles.

Great actor who was dealt a poor staff and script. He was never the problem in his SM movies, it was everything else around him. When people ding him as the 'worst Spidey', that's not really accurate. He was a great Spider-Man and Peter Parker. I actually think Holland is #3 as far as his depiction of the Spider-Man character goes. It's just that his movies have insane production value and the MCU cred that they tend to stand out above the others. But in my opinion, Tobey's SM1 and SM2 are still the most accurate depiction of the Spider-Man franchise. MCU SM is crazy over the top and isn't quite as grounded as they should be...but it seems like that might change in the future.
This was a fun enough film, Dafoe seemed to be relishing the chance to play Goblin again lmao. Mixed feelings on the final battle and script.
memorable action scenes for me were:
Goblin beating Peters ass and punching him through walls
Strange vs Spidey
Don't really remember anything from the final battle besides the climax.

Haven’t seen it yet but I thoroughly hate the implications of all this multiverse shit.
There’s a universe where Tom Holland Spidey is an Avenger. One where he isn’t. One where he is but Thor isn’t. One where he is but Iron Man isn’t. One where he’s the only superhero. One where he has a five inch cock. One where he has a five and a half inch cock. One where he has a five and three quarter inch cock. The list goes on.
Why should I give a fuck if Tom Holland Spidey is in mortal peril when Doctor Strange can open a portal and just get one with a bigger dick out of the cosmos? There’s just zero impulse for me to care given the seemingly infinite possibilities of a multiverse. It’s zero stakes storytelling. More danger happening in fucking Paterson.

the Strange vs Spidey fight was insane
1000% agree here. Garfield carried that era the best he could and I have always thought his movies are way overly hated. I'm glad to see him get some respect

Maybe I'm an asshole...but I can't get over how short Holland is. That's always affected my ranking of him as Spidey lol

You just know they're going to bring back everyone who's popular.
No more stakes at all.
Btw, I found it hilarious that Cristo Fernandez (Dani Rojas from Ted Lasso) had a cameo as the Bartender at the end with Venom. And I was in the theater sitting wearing my Roy Kent Richmond AFC jersey lmao.

I enjoyed it and probably like most people could get over the stupid with all the fan service that was given. Feels like Marvel got to have its cake and eat it too with MCU Spidey.
He was a version who was flung into a role with the Avengers, and now he got reset to be poor and hesitant to connect with those he loves.
Australian audiences are pretty mellow but lots of claps for Matt Murdock, Andrew and Tobey versions of Spider-Man. So happy the latter two weren't brief cameos.
Peter gets a pass for being young, but Dr. Strange should've been more considered before casting a spell that had multiversal implications. I can understand how not everybody who knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man makes it into the MCU with Dr. Strange's containment, but I still don't understand how Electro made it in. The 'I thought you'd be Black' line got a laugh in my session, but made it sound like he didn't know Spider-Man's identity and shouldn't have been dragged in?

Glad they got a do-over, even if it was a one time thing.
Garfield is goat spidey and i don't even think his two movies were much worse than Holland's first two.

FFH pissed me off. When they fuck up that tulip field… breh
Saw it yesterday. Loved it. By far the best MCU one but still not as good as Tobey's Spiderman 2. Something about it makes me still rank it as one of the best superhero movies because it just works with a very condensed core that doesn't need to expand a "cinematic" universe.
