- some African players are now rich;
- where they come from is dirt poor, like villages;
- those places are fed by the money the players make, to what extent TBD, but likely a lot; and
- states football and politics shouldn't mingle.
If what I understand is correct, then it's really no different than what I've seen with my own family and countless other immigrants who find new source of wealth elsewhere but continue to send funding back home to feed those who couldn't make it out.
If my understanding is incorrect, then I welcome further feedback as an educational course.
