This isn't the end, always next season innit.
Who goes? Easy for me - Illara, Khedira, Arbeloa, Iker, Silva (loan), Jese (injuries killed his career) and Chicha.
I would love to have more depth on the bench, quality depth, not Illara depth. I would also love to see Carlo decide the purchases, not Perez. Our biggest signing will most likely be DDG *if* Iker where to leave. If not, Verratti or Pogba style midfieldsers would be amazing. Verratti would really be a godly signing for me - young, talented and Carlo knows him well.
Anyone that can help our goalie/midfield situation is a good summer signing for me.
Depth is important to me after the last two seasons, injuries due to lack of rotations killed us. Look how gassed we looked today. Let Carlo purchase with confidence and hopefully he'll rotate next year. We need to also poach a few of Barca's medical staff (I know we use a 3rd party medical provider), they have some magic going on there.

Pretty much agree word for word.
I think Pogba will cost too much for what he can offer, I'd rather see us going for veratti.
Need to find a better way to fit in Bale next season, I still believe in him and think we haven't seen his best yet.
Carlo should get another great extension on his contract, I think he can do better next season if he had more control of future signings like you said
Just sat here and watched the match.
Thought Juve did a masterful job holding their shape throughout the majority of the game. Nothing was really working in midfield for Madrid at all. They seemed out of ideas for huge stretches of time during both halfs.
Bale really should have scored that header in the 72nd min. He's directly in front of goal, has the angle but get's under the ball and put's it over. A year ago and he's probably on a hattrick at that point in the game.
Casillas did well on a number of occasions. I don't think he has anything to be ashamed of.
Anyway, it was an entertaining match and Peter Drury really went in after the final whistle....
"and for Real Madrid their season has crumbled to dust in the space of a few days and it's one of their own who's comeback to haunt them…"

I'd be happy to have Arbeloa back. Not good enough for Madrid, but easily good enough to at least compete to start for us imo
Would take a punt on Jese as well if he didn't play in the one position where we're reasonably well stocked

It's just that with his age he doesn't really fit anymore, especially with our new RB signing.

Agreed on Carlo and Bale.
As with all big clubs there's a lot of loud fans who instantly blame players and managers without any logic. I sincerely think Bale carried an injury all year, not only was he out of form from his previous year he also looked like he couldn't give it all and was holding back.
Bale won us two trophies, he's good in my book. Hope he finds form next year.
Carlo to me signifies calm and balance, he's a great manager whose able to manage big egos. That's important at Madrid, not every manager is able to keep this relatively peaceful. I just want him to rotate more, that's my only gripe with him.
By Coldnoodle Go To PostWhen will we be back where we belong Hitch? We are where we belong
When? ;_;
It seems to be getting harder and harder for an average team to get into the latter stages of the CL, no matter how disciplined they are, and how much effort they put in. So fuck knows if we'll ever get back to the top, let alone when :(
First aim is making sure we don't regress next season. While we surely can't get any worse in terms of goalscoring, we could quite easily get worse at the back and in midfield. I'm sure we have replacements for Johnson and Enrique lined up (well, Johnson since he plays instead of Enrique anyway, but I worry that we might just neglect to replace Gerrard, or promote Rossiter which would come with its own risks.
Benteke, Arbeloa, Kovacic
£55m or so for what would 99% be a massive improvement. Put me in the committee innit.
By Hitch Go To PostAll the Juve guys seem so happy in that gif. Love it when you see things that remind you that players don't just care about the money.
That's true, awesome to see, but most the players competing at the top level really do it for more than just the ridiculous amount of money. They wouldn't cry about being injured, losing matches or follow Chelsea on instagram after a loss if all they wanted was that weekly pay cheque. The hunger to win and succeed is there. /Cheesy
Incredible.
I am so excited to see how the rest of the season plays out
Could do a pep 2009 and win the treble
Or could do a benfica and lose all 3
Pls repeat 2009
Marseille president Vincent Labrune was in attendance when Chelsea's U18 side won the FA Youth Cup (again), before sitting down with Michael Emenalo to talk about some of the youngsters he just watched. He opened up to The Independent about just what was discussed in those meetings, and it should be relatively pleasing to Chelsea fans everywhere:
"I told him a club like Marseille was very interested to build something with a club like Chelsea and have some of the young players on loan. Players who have big potential but cannot get into the first team in the Premier League, they come here on loan and the English club pays part of the salary."
That sounds a lot like the arrangement the Blues have built with Vitesse Arnhem, but would offer Chelsea loanees a chance to compete against some higher quality competition."
