By jtb Go To PostI would love for Szczesny to end up Liverpool.
Better to use Balotelli as goalkeeper
By Barzul Go To PostVeysey says we've offered Cech over 100k a week and he wants to remain in London. Also, Liverpool want to sign Szczesny. I'd see him tbh. Cech + Ospina would be the most solid duo we've had in years.
Rather sign Cech and dump Ospina. Szh will be better than Ospina. Don't think Szh will be willing to be a backup.
Ospina will be fine getting a check and playing FA Cup games.

Too bad you're not like one of the premfaces who believes everything.
By Freewheelin Go To PostIsn't Veysey a massive troll or something? I just remember him not being reliable on Arsenal news.
Even if he is, Cech to Arsenal will happen, unless we can really persuade him to go to PSG. £10m is a very cheap deal, even if he only has 1 year left
also Wenger will never ever ever ever see Theo as a striker. I'm not really sure why, tbh... he's obviously a bit limited as a player, but it's not like Giroud doesn't have huge flaws in his game as well.
By Freewheelin Go To PostIsn't Veysey a massive troll or something? I just remember him not being reliable on Arsenal news.I don't know. I think he may have some sources. Always seemed to do really well when it came to our injury news. So he defo has someone at the club feeding him info.

4 consonants to start the name is a deal breaker.

10 million with 1 year left for a goalkeeper is not cheap
Really don't get why we'd be in for Chesney
If we were to buy a first choice keeper, and I don't think we are, we'd be looking for better than him
If we were to buy a second choice keeper, we'd be looking for cheaper than him
We're already spread pretty thin on the money we have compared to the number of players we need, before making signings like that

By Pele.gif Go To Post10 million with 1 year left for a goalkeeper is not cheapFor a GK of Cech's quality, it is imo. If we get him, his signing alone probably guarantees 6-7 points more return.

It is when you're getting some as good as Cech.
By Hitch Go To PostI'll genuinely never understand why people hate Rodgers, aside from Southampton fans
He chats a lot of shit and is extraordinarily Brentish granted, but why would you hate someone for being a harmless knobend?
edit: wait, was it Sunderland where he said 'their fans have been treated to a footballing masterclass' after losing to them 2-0?
That'd explain it :P
We beat Swansea when he came out with that drivel. In a game where we scored 2 top class goals.
By wedward Go To PostRather sign Cech and dump Ospina. Szh will be better than Ospina. Don't think Szh will be willing to be a backup.lol. Weddy pls, you cant be serious. Scz better than Ospina, really? No.

By Hitch Go To PostReally don't get why we'd be in for ChesneyThing is I don't think Mignolet is better that Ches. Some of the goals he conceded in that 6-1 were completely avoidable. Then again we has Szczesny between the sticks for 8-2 and 6-0 so I might be talking shit.

Yes. Without a doubt. Ospina is shit and error prone. Scz has bad patches, but overall he is at a much higher level than Ospina. Scz was very good last year.
Ospina is also a massive pussy.
By jtb Go To Post10m for someone like Casillas would be too much, 10m for Cech is a gamble worth taking.
I dont think theres any gamble involved, except for the fact that he may might not stay on after that initial 3 year contract. Hes a top class goalkeeper, Courtois (despite not necessarily having an amazing season), De Gea and Cech are the 3 best keepers in the league
Ive always said his head injury would stop him from wanting to play on until he could have done (late 30s like a lot of keepers) but he should be good for those 3 years unless he hurts it somehow
By wedward Go To Post10 million isn't cheap but it's worth it.
It'll end up being less.
I agree with this 100%.
If we pay 10, it won't be cheap, but probably will be worth it.

Wenger will see Theo as a striker. Don't be surprised if he starts him up front this week.
Theo isn't a good enough striker though, don't care even if he does dink in goals. Poor in the air, bad defensively, suspect first touch, mediocre link up play, etc etc. And he's fragile. Once his pace goes, he'll be unremarkable.
Szczesny is a head case who'll never be a quality keeper.

Would Liverpool really want him? He is all arrogance without nearly the talent to back it up. Im sure you could find a better keeper elsewhere

I doubt that will work in this instance. We get the prices we want, and if you squabble over a few million he will just go elsewhere. If there is any sense, they will get the deal done as soon as possible and just pay the money

I really don't think he will go abroad. Maybe United will come in for him and pay 10 but I doubt it.

Paris isnt that far from London if Arsenal are going to try and hardball over the fee, which would be hilarious. He can get higher wages and more chance at winning trophies (if he is so bothered about that, hes won pretty much it all with us anyway) at PSG

Wenger will see him as a striker up until he signs a new contract. We've seen this song and dance before. The "He's the next Henry!" quotes, the hat-trick, then he signs an extension and spends another three years playing on the wing.
Theo is a very good player, though.
Having said all that, I'd be shocked if he started the final as a striker.
