By OddMorsel Go To PostIf we keep Sterling we get a great player on cheap wages, 7-ish million from the tribunal, and he's at a stage in his career where he can't afford not try his best as a footballer. There's also the chance he buckles because of all the money he'd be passing up and signs a new contract, which would give us more money in a transfer fee since he'd be further in his development and there may be interest from Barca/PSG/Real then. I think from the club's perspective, keeping him is the best option. We held out with Suarez until he was at absolute peak value, hope we do the same for Sterling. If he's got 2 years left on his contract (I think) then surely his peak value is now.

jesus christ, painful.
the only reason he isn't an arsenal players already is that Wenger sat on his thumbs too long last season when southampton had already sold half their team and they wouldn't sell another player.

There is a PR campaign for the womens' WC going on here in Sweden and they obviously launched a hashtag "Klappa för Sverige #klappaforsverige" which means "Applauds for Sweden". But the PR geniuses thought it was "Clap for Sweden #clapforsweden" in English.

By OddMorsel Go To PostLike I said I'd be very disappointed. Arsenal have the cheapest squad of the top 4 and are the most fragile, we should be attempting to overhaul them, not feed them our best players.
You really believe our team is more fragile than Man Utd at this point in time? Even without our targets? Take away the names and look at the reality of who is playing well. Man Utd need almost an overhall to challenge for the PL next season, we need three pieces to have a squad capable, that alone shows the difference of where we are at.
By Lightning Go To PostIf we get our selected targets we will have an excellent squad next season.
Benzema, Cech (Most important) and Schneiderlin and we will be awesome next season with depth and enough quality. Don''t want Sterling, his attitude this second half of the season has totally turned me off him. The amount he would cost would not be worth it and I detest the thought of seeing Theo playing for Liverpool. Fuck that.
Personally I'm not convinced, he has the same arguements thrown at him (lack of pace in behind makes him easier to play against). Obviously all round a better player than Giroud but I'm probably being unrealistic in what I want, but I want someone who can hold the ball up, interlink but when the time is right can make a run in behind (doesnt have to have blistering pace) which Benzema really doesnt offer. But Schniderlin/Carvahlo/Vidal I'd be happy for either or tbh, maybe get rid of some players who are talented but just not going to get into our first team at the moment. Cambpell, Podolski, Diaby, Flamini all need to go.
I can understand your comments on Sterling and maybe something I should consider more, I think I'm indifferent on whether he comes or goes.
By Freewheelin Go To PostWhat does Walcott do for our team tho? Sure, he scores goals (and his hat-trick on Sunday was nice) but as a team player, he doesn't really contribute much.
Edit: I would love Cech, still cant see Mou letting him go to us tho, lol.
Walcott in form does an INCREDIBLE amount for the team. He is the only one of our players who generally prefers to do his work without the ball, he will constantly sit on the last shoulder of the defender, times his runs brilliantly, and creates more space for other to play. And I honestly mean this, Theo is probably our best finisher. He makes Ozil x5 better because he's so willing to run off the ball. Even with all the chances he's been missing recently have you not ever noticed how's CONSTANTLY in getting through one on one to goal.

What of it m8
By Scabro Go To PostHe can occasionally be a liability for our defence on the right, but when he is healthy, the guy produces. Really good output in assists and goals. His crossing had improved alot too. I don't know, i feel like as promising as Sterling is, we have a valuable player in Walcott. Plus we have Gnabry back healthy and i think he is gonna a revelation next season. Don't see the real need for Sterling.
Im not sure what to think of him as a striker though. He was good last game but every other time he has played there he has been painfully mediocre. Bad movement, not good enough passing, dribbling not good enough to create for himself.
I think people underrate Ospina, but Cech would be incredible.
YES SCABRO
This guy is going to tear up the PL next season if he gets the opportunity, I've been watching him since he's come back from injury and jesus this guy is so fucking good. Imagine being able to dribble like sterling, with the strength of Ox and the pace of Walcott and being more intelligent than all three of them.

Liverpool should keep him regardless of whether he agrees to a new contract or not. Even if you sell for £40m. £10m goes to QPR and that £7m is guaranteed at some stage (whether it's via a tribunal or future transfer).
£23m is what you stand to lose, then. And if you did sell, you'd be biting into that to cover the costs of any replacement. The transfer fee of that replacement aside - you can add at least £5m to additional wages for a player of similar quality. So now you're getting close to a £15m benefit.
And that's just the financials...nevermind the risk of not getting a replacement and the shame of having to sell to a domestic team.

I think he is going to end up leaving soon enough. If not this summer, then next - even if he does sign a new contract (which is possible IMO).
And to be fair to him, I think he is a "great kid" in football terms. He seems to be doing his level best for the team. Yes he hasn't been performing that well but there are reasons for that which are beyond his control (and he has still been one of their best and most productive player). That interview was really stupid but at the same time the club have decided to attack him too.
Ex-Liverpool media have come out of this looking the worst. Oh Raheem you're so good, what a star. What, you wanna leave? You're fucking shit m8.

the board leaking shit to the media to pressure him was pretty petty
I could see Liverpool refusing to sell and setting up a sort of revision/extension to his contract where he can leave to a non domestic CL club for sum x and to a domestic CL club for sum y if Liverpool dont make champions league next season.

I'm expecting something to be announced this week. Not in Viva_ITK terms. But all this talk about how things will be done swiftly...show me something Wooders.
Otamendi seems fairly straight forwards. Just fucking give them their £35m. Although did note he's due at Copa America which isn't ideal.

Finally saw Avengers last night. Entertaining enough. Felt like the action was a little overwhelming though. Some funny lines too. Solid.
Also saw Furious 7 over the weekend. What a ridiculous movie. I mean yeah it's entertaining in the most primitive way. Also how the fuck is Vin Diesel's voice that deep. The moment I completely disengaged was when The Rock tenses his muscles to burst open a cast...a cast which is presumably protecting damaged muscles/bones. I know it's not meant to be realistic but fucking hell.
Also watched Focus. Margot Robbie.
