ERA is a terrible stat, it is 2022 please don't use it!
Ray's K/9 is down and that is worrying. He's also closer to his career norms for things like LOB% after running an outrageous 90% last year. He's had slightly worse HR luck as well. But his walk rate and babip are pretty close to normal. He looks more like 2019 Ray than 2021 Ray overall.

By bluemax Go To PostRobbie Ray isn't getting paid to be an ace though. He had an outlier season and is performing more like who he is normally, so eh. Sure I wish he was better, but I wish every player on the Mariners who isn't Ty France was better! A weird thing about Ray is that he has basically turned into a 2 pitch guy, after being a bit of a 4 pitch guy last year.Pretty much!
In other bad Angels news, Mike Trout left the game early with an injury.
Also Angels fired Maddon? ๐ฎ

Earned vs unearned runs are almost completely arbitrary and up to the discretion of a human scorer. They also are based upon the team's defense and not the ability of the individual pitcher. Basically they account for things out of the pitcher's control, and don't tell you how the pitcher is actually performing.
Since we talked about Robbie Ray:
11 IP 2 BB 9 K 3 H 0 R
That's including tonight's game that is in progress.

By blackace Go To PostThought he had 10ks in that almost no-no outing?Yeah I didn't update it when the game ended, that was over 1.5 game. His last two he has:
14 IP 6 H 2 BB 14 K 1 R
Hope he keeps that going in his next start.
By Batong Go To PostIs this the equivalent of being FMed but in baseball?Naw, this is the equivalent of being absolutely FUCKED over by a referee.
Bruh those outside of strikezone calls in the Jays last night were absolutely ridiculous. Something was definitely up with that especially in the come back by the Sox.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostNaw, this is the equivalent of being absolutely FUCKED over by a referee.Ah so VAR - gotcha.
BTW forgot to post but Ray had his third straight good outing. Also the Mariners have won 4 in a row?! Maybe I should drive across the Orange Curtain on Sunday...

1. The Angels are a bush league organization of shitbags from top to bottom
2. Robbie Ray with another good start, 7 IP 1 H 3 BB 8 K 0 R

The Mariners are over .500 and the Angels are 10 games under. Guess picking a fight with Seattle didn't work out so well.
9-1 over their last 10, 7 in a row. Oh and Robbie Ray went 6 innings, gave up only 3 hits, walked 2 and struck out 6. The Mariners are fun right now!
