By Laboured Go To PostThe Roberto Soldado one is the undisputed best in football history. Just one of those moments I'll never forget and still makes me piss myself. Most of those are clearly on purpose, and you're lying if you say you wouldn't take the opportunity to freely boot the ball into the crowd

Lloris is still one of the top shot stoppers in the world, and has been less error prone recently too. Pickford is not that

Finally some good news from this fucking shit club, Victor Kristiansen extended until 2025
What a player. 18 years old and one of our best players, great left back. Will probably play at Twente or some shit in 3 years knowing our transfers.

Also, this is an outright lie. There have been many "blips". We were in terrible form early last season and there were shouts for Solksjaer to be sacked. And even the season before that we were garbage until Bruno signed.
I think Ole is a chilling example of what can happen when you appoint an ex-player as manager - sentimentality overriding results.
Arsenal appear similarly (but to a lesser extent) all the way in on Arteta.
Would give me serious pause about hiring the likes of Viera in the future.

The Ole thing is not sentimentality by the board, they weren't there for the 99 thing. More a case of using Ole as a shield.
That and he's a yes man who won't rock the boat or expose them publically, like LVG did and Conte would.
The cult of Sir Alex has conditioned many United fans to believe we aren't a sacking club, which is false.

I think the recent run of bad results is overwriting the fact that Ole's time as manager has probably been a net positive for the club. It's just that in a footballing sense he has taken the team as far as he can (as of around May 2021).

No trophies, no title challenge, the general acceptance of humiliating results like Liverpool/City, and so forth.

I get that when he arrived the team was a shit sandwich and he put on a bit of cheese and a dose of fan sauce, but it’s still a shit sandwich innit.
For the life of me I'll never understand why we tried to give him a new contract in the first place. He isn't good enough and we were happy enough to sell during the summer.

It might well remain a shit sandwich even with a new manager.

Those humiliating results came in the last 4 weeks and I don't think there has been any general acceptance of it (by fans at least). The idea is that he was building a team that could consistently challenge and he's more or less put together a team that in the right hands might be able to compete, subject to ownership blunders. He should've really won a trophy last season, and his failure to do so was the cleasrest sign that he's not the guy who takes this team to the next level.

In his own words, he's been in this situation 3-4 times. Sure remember the run in 2019 with 9 losses (and 3 draws) in 15? The Europa League final? He could survive a nuclear attack in Manchester at this point.
Think he gets too much credit for recruitment too. Mourinho wanted Maguire. United would have gone after Sancho/Varane regardless of manager. Van De Beek has been destroyed, etc.
Carra is way harder to understand when you don’t actually see him. This new Ringer FC ep he’s on is really good.
lolspurs. If only they weren't soft lads, Conte would have probably been at Man Utd by now.
