By LFMartins86 Go To PostStarting a decisive game with Danilo and Moutinho in 2021.
A TV commentator was saying what the difference was between Danilo and Palhinha, Danilo waits for the player to try and tackle him while Palhinha goes after the man to get the ball back.
That is a perfect example of how the game was setup, we wait to see what they would do instead of trying to grab control of the game.
Best part is Santos saying he didn’t instruct the team to play the way they did, or that the team didn’t do what he asked etc, the mark of a great manager. He has said the team will for sure play in the WC and the goal is to win it so it’s all good and dandy.
By Hitch Go To PostSantos has always come across as a complete non-entity to meHe's a bit of a meme manager. He said that he only had a ticket back to Portugal after the Euro 2016 final because we were going to be there and win it, when that happened (with a lot of luck), he keeps saying stuff like that.
We then won the League of Nations because we took it a bit more seriously than most and the final was in Portugal which made him untouchable.
He keeps calling players that are downward trend of their career like José Fonte and João Moutinho, keeps starting players that are on a bad run of form at their clubs and is very limited tactics wise.
Santos should have removed himself after a lackluster World Cup 2018 and Euro 2020 but he doesn't want to go out on a low.
The problem is that he is just destroying his legacy.
This is the biggest moment of the press conference.
Journalist : why is it that Portugal has a team full of talent and yet plays so little football?
Santos after a long pause : what should I answer?

Maybe I just move around the wrong circles of Liverpool fandom (basically not twitter, facebook and reddit), but I don't think there's anything like the clamour for Gerrard to become our manager imminently that is made out by non-LFC fans and pundits. The vast, vast majority of us seem to only want him to take over when he's proved beyond doubt that he'd be the right choice.
Obviously there's every chance that it'd be completely different if we were in a shit state like Barca now, having an elite manager suppresses the sentimentality.

Ibra is a gargantuan piece of shit. Cunt of the highest order.
To put things into perspective here
Daniel Alves wasnt good enough for São Paulo
they're fighting relegation this season
I remember when Laboured mentioned that we could be in a footballing world where Barca's search for a manager could shame even Levy's antics. I didn't believe it, then we all joked about Xavi...
...
Hope Xavi proves me wrong but he's in deep.

I did notice that no one here had called Khashoggi's widow despite piling oppobrium on Newcastle's new state owners. Good to see a genius like Keys is on the same page.
I also enjoyed that Howe not taking the Celtic job is a negative mark against him as a manager.

Notice how Daniel Farke’s name was ever so slightly misspelt because a bloody forruner can’t have a proper English name
Great read.
Unintentionally so I'm sure but it made me laugh. Stunning to think he basically was the face of English football for what, 20 years?

Find it strange that suddenly Fit and Proper test is what we're clamouring for.
Actually maybe we should so we can get money out of football!!!!
Marcus apparently can't where Burberry and campaign for child poverty. Dude does not even talk about income inequality and taxing the rich, he just believes that children shouldn't go hungry.
