Solksjaer is really getting desperate now. We tried to play attacking football for months and all it did was leave us massively exposed at the back. The while point in moving to the 3-5-2 was to make us more solid defensively, but that hasn't worked either. So he's ditching his failed set up to go back to the previous failed set up.
His goal was always to prevent another fiver vs City and then go back to “normal”. Not for us to actually work on our solidity.
I would like to see us continue the move towards a progressive style that last year promised a bit. We started this season talking about two free 8s but the tactical side of things isn't there on the coaching staff.
Binning off Henderson again looks like short-termism and a lack of thinking as to what the point of last year was for. Continually playing Pogba despite the fact he is going to leave is a pathetic move and he should be benched for Donny at this point. And of course, the plan is that Sancho is here for the next 10 years so he should be getting precedence over at least one of Ronaldo and Cavani. But we can only think in the now, which is why there's no succession plan whatsoever.

Maguire hasn't suddenly turned into a bad defender overnight, but he isn't a transcendent defender like VVD. He needs structure around him so his individual brainfarts aren't magnified, like Luiz under Conte.

I meant most players will know who the leader is. When Dybala was wearing the armband over Bonucci, nobody is going to mistake who is the leader.
Being a captain is largely ceremonial in a game, and outside part of marketing.
Clubs can give it out based on:
-longevity(like Juve)
-vote(like Arsenal)
-the best player
-a local lad
-one of the managers guys

Apparently Rangnick isn't being considered for United because he also wants to be DoF? Thank God United are so useless, because he could literally be the perfect solution. A huge upgrade over both Ole and whatever chuckleheads are in the United backroom. You could probably even persuade him to be interim manager, then step up to DoF at the end of the season.
