I really just want to know what scares United so much about sacking Solksjaer. He's clearly not good enough for the job.

Paying him. Paying someone else. Having a manager who will challenge them and isn’t a yes man. Nostalgia whores.
By bud Go To Posthe's been very good, yeah.I'm kind of worried that being good won't be enough bud.
hopefully, the team will catch up some day, and give him less to do.
because, fuck. arsenal are bad. still.
Liverpool, City & Chelsea are leagues away in terms of managerial and squad quality. United can spend the GDP of a small country. Newcastle are now owned by a country. We are being squeezed at both ends by the smaller clubs who seem to be run very well and the biggest clubs that are behemoths.
Just feels like Arsenal are very far away.

And spurs have a man who came back from the brink of baldness. Lazarus like. Jesus esque. They can’t be stopped.
By Cleff Go To PostLol
I can't wait, we currently have the lowest distance covered in the league. If some of these players have to die in training then so be it.

It always feels far away until you’re on the journey, then it flies by.
Look how far we’ve come between 2015 and now.
Main thing you need is ambitious owners. Even ones with shallower pockets are better than what you have. You can strategise around not being affluent, but you can’t compensate for owners who want to drift along.

I think Olé has stabilised the team for the short term. 3-5-2 will stop us from being overloaded out wide and will also provide more cover for our central defenders. Can see us picking up a win against Atalanta and maybe a draw against City. They've struggled in the past against us when we've sat deep.
The problem is that it's not a sustainable formation and we haven't actually addressed any of the issues with our style of play that we had 10 days ago. Eventually we'll have to go back to a 4-2-3-1 because we've too many talented forwards to leave out and because 3-5-2, in the way we play it, is a very negative tactic. The fans and players will eventually tire of it and demand more positive football. Especially when we stop creating and scoring.

By Andrew Go To PostIt's just strange the focus on the long-term, because the squad is very much set up for the short-term.
Pogba & Cavani are gone in the summer, Van De Beek & Bailly should be gone, Ronaldo will be a year older, and so forth.
Writing off the season, hoping for the flavour of the month managerial candidate, seems crazy to me.
I would absolutely love for Arsenal to have a squad like that.
It is crazy, there’s no way around it. Pay 90 mill for Sancho, bring Varane and Ronaldo in and then… just play dice.

Why must I continue to live in a world where cunt teams like City, Chelsea, and Tottenham have had Italian managers, but Arsenal are still waiting.

Maybe Allegri when Juve sack him.

United turning down the chance to get Conte is bothering me more than I thought it would. Like, I knew we probably wouldn't go for him because I know what our owners are like. He's not someone who'll take any of their shit and cover for them. We're just so cowardly.
But at the same time, we've seen the upper limit of what Solksjaer can do. He can't coach us to play dominant, attacking football. All he knows is counterattacks which will never win us the league. It may not even get us Top 4 this season. We'll eventually got to another crisis point and be faced with the prospect of sacking him. We'll probably do it then, but there'll be no decent options to replace him.

What's more staggering is that there was no contingency or plan B.
Like they thought after 3 years with him winning nothing playing vibes football, he was the future. The thought that he could need replacing never crossed their minds.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostHe says the exact same thing about Benitez, multiple times, except so far he's got Everton punching quite a bit above their weight

That account posts decent stuff about formations and in game tactical changes.
But then I see stuff like this and think what the actual fuck?

By Laboured Go To PostMcTom had a very good game but it was against a non-existent Spurs midfield. He did. But McTominay has been pretty mediocre for his entire time at United. There's nothing world class about him.
There's obviously something good to his game that Mourinho and Solksjaer sees. But it's not translating into the pitch.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostDespite early results, Nuno's Spurs were always doing terribly in their underlying stats, so a reversal in fortunes was likely. Benitez's Everton are doing well and don't look a bad choice for the Europa. Not to mention that Spurs spent a lot in the summer while Everton had no money at all to spend
Surely the back would be Varane/Maguire.
Unless he goes with the formation that he did against Spurs, but I don't think that's sustainable.

Even worse news is that apparently Dead Woodward is staying on the job till summer now.
I can excuse human rights abuses, but keeping that cunt in a job is the last straw. Fuck me, we have the worst owners.

Ole still at the wheel
What's next? Rat king getting injured? Woodward tracking back from walking away?
