As everyone said though when Ronaldo was signed. Striker wasn't really the big problem for United.
Midfield options of:
McTom, Fred, Mafic, Pogba, Rat king
Is good, but not good enough to challenge any competent big team
With the fixtures United have had, they should be on more points

By cRrusheR Go To PostI just don’t suffer from “star player means everything is on him” syndrome.
Nor do I, because he isn’t our best player. Bruno is more important to how we play. But Ronaldo is not doing enough really. When we are struggling to play well, can’t be doing with a passenger. It is exactly the same shit Lukaku gets criticism for every time he doesn’t play well (which I would say is less often than when Ronaldo does).
By domino Go To Post14/21 from a piss easy opening schedule.
I’d say our title race is already over but besides us fans and Ronaldo I don’t think any part of the club actually expected to do anything this season. That’s damn sure how they play
Yep - we should have been looking at having at least 18 points by now.
Think I’d be happier if Ronaldo and Pogba weren’t here tbh. Ole is not doing a good job at building a style of play that fits the disparate profile of the squad.

Agreed enough, but the Fred-McTom double pivot supporting a more fluid front 4 of Bruno/Sancho/Greenwood/Rashford would do better because there'd be more coherency in play. As it is, Ronaldo is just expected to put the ball in when the ball gets to him (how? we work that out later) and Pogba is expected to do whatever he wants with the ball (what? we work that out later)
By Batong Go To PostUnited get Bissouma and Ole keeps on smilingWe need a Fabinho type.
By Lambda Go To Postbro imagine thinking Ronaldo is the problem
but thinking Sancho was excellent
It's okay, we know you're Portuguese too. If Sancho had worn a Benfica shirt on holiday once, you'd think he was the best player in the league.
By Feorax Go To PostHe’d be exceptional in United’s midfield. No he wouldn’t. He’d be in there by himself same as McT
By Dan Go To PostWell lads is it Ole in or Ole out this weekend?
I feel like you're arguing with people who aren't in this thread
Gets rid of Lukaku for not being the type of forward he wants to build the team around....goes ahead and signs Ronaldo.
Defence is a far bigger worry than attack imo. I don't understand how individually talented defenders can look so poor as a unit. It's especially bad when we're hit on the counter. We group up towards the ball and leave miles if space for opposition attackers. We should've lost to Villarreal and again today.
By Killer7 Go To PostGets rid of Lukaku for not being the type of forward he wants to build the team around….goes ahead and signs Ronaldo.
Was absolutely a Twitter signing lol
By Lambda Go To Postbro imagine thinking Ronaldo is the problem

On a more positive note, it was good to see him turn up the energy and finally run at the defense. Too bad he made nothing happen in the end.
By n8 dogg Go To PostIt's okay, we know you're Portuguese too. If Sancho had worn a Benfica shirt on holiday once, you'd think he was the best player in the league.Lindelof wore a benfica shirt for multiple seasons and he's one of your worst players

looool
By n8 dogg Go To PostWas absolutely a Twitter signing lolYep. He's literally a finisher now and that's it.
Can see why City wanted him because he'd just sit in the box and have chances coming to him.
Think most can see we play much better as a team when Cavani is the ST.
The defending on transitions is a fucking mess though. That's on Ole and his staff.
By n8 dogg Go To PostNor do I, because he isn’t our best player. Bruno is more important to how we play.
Yeah and before Ronaldo came in Bruno was the one being singled out for not “showing up” every time the team underperformed. Meanwhile some players keep getting a pass.
Can we actually look at the problem and try to find a cure? We treating symptoms at this point.
It’s Ole, it’s time to accept it. Makes me sad that there won’t be love songs written about Ole the manager, but it is what it is.

What painkillers they got you on?
I need to get on them.
Greenwood is playing pretty well currently, but we aren't creating enough scoring opportunities for him. Seems like hes been reduced to dribbling past 3 or 4 defenders to try and get a shot off. He's our best finisher along with Ronaldo. We're awful at getting the best out of them.

So if Arsenal win today, they’re within two points of United.
This despite Arsenal having already played Spurs, Chelsea and City and United having played pretty much no-one expected to challenge for top 4.

By Killer7 Go To PostGets rid of Lukaku for not being the type of forward he wants to build the team around….goes ahead and signs Ronaldo.Ronaldo was definitely on his way to City who actually needed a striker. And United couldn't allow it to happen, can't imagine he was a target prior to the city involvement

They're always one performance away from a meltdown. Much like ourselves, but we have better players who'll eventually get it right.

That’s xenophobia to you? Learn something new everyday. If only I was saying that you are *something negative* because you’re British, then you would have a point. Not that having a point is a requirement, but still, you know, you would have a point.
By Killer7 Go To PostWon't be suprised if Ole's United get results in the big games and do fuck all in the rest.I'm not so sure on this anymore. We've done pretty well in bigger games in the past because Olé got his message across well. We were being underestimated, they don't respect us etc etc. That worked when he took over after those miserable years under Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho. We had a relatively poor squad who needed to be built up. We'd sit back, tell Fred and McTominay to scrap for everything and hit on the counter.
But now that we've invested so much money into the side, the fans and players expect more than counterattacking. We should be dominating games in attack and looking imperious in defence. Neither of those things are happening. Can't see the players again accepting to play deep sitting transition football again this season.

With injuries not so much
Pretty much.
Foundations are there now. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going. Always said I didn’t mind not having European football this year.
I hope we can stay healthy and then make some more signings in Jan to add more depth.
Make a push for top four.
