Fans don't make the decisions.
Like I keep saying, the fish rots from the head.
If your owners have no ambition, it will be reflected on the pitch.
So yes, man red fans accepted mediocrity. Just like london red fans.

By Willkiller Go To PostI'll stand by what I said all along. Ole should never have got the job. He shouldn't have gotten it as caretaker and he shouldn't have gotten it permanently.
That isn't to say he's done a terrible job, he hasn't. But I do 100% believe the things that he gets the most praised for (clearing out the shit, replacing them with big names, getting the atmosphere around the club positive….getting everyone…….smiling…..) could and would have been done by a manager with an actual CV. The idea that only Ole could have done what he has done is and always has been totally laughable to me, not only would have good managers done exactly that, they probably would have added a trophy or two on top of it. I also totally believe a stronger manager would have resisted the signing of Ronaldo, which was obviously a PR move and a mistake on the pitch (despite his goals, which he will get more of).
The difference between Ole's and Mou's teams now is that Ole has a far better team on paper and has far less to show for it. Yes the attitude around the club has increased dramatically and yes that is important….but how much does that count now with the players openly leaking dressing room chat etc etc?
So many United fans have accepted the mediocrity that the Glazers love, the winning mentality that United had under Ferguson has gone and Ole did nothing to change that. But hey, at least they were smiling.
I mean, this is all correct, but is also divorced from / igonring the reality that the deicision makers at United are almost Ashley-tier cretins. And most United fans here, when they talk about the range of possible decisions that could have been made, are very conscious of making that calculation when they talk about what's potentially good for the club.
I think that people were generally content with Ole for so long and the things he did speaks massively to how little trust they have for United's decision makers to even manage finding a better manager than even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Newcastle fans filled their stadiums through relegation as well.

Emotional blackmail, in a way.

Oh I know that, and I sympathise with it to an extent because I know exactly what it's like to have those types of people in charge. United have a combination of general terrible decision makers, and synthetic marketing men . Not a good combo. I was genuinely impressed with the protests you guys had last season, getting the Liverpool game cancelled was seriously impressive (fuck me how I wish our own fans could have organised something like that in the Ashley eta).....but a couple more big name signings later and.....all is forgiven?
This isn't the fans fault of course, but there has been a general acceptance of all of these things that have given the higher ups at United a far easier ride than they should have. When United fans have spat out their dummy, it has been all too easy for the club to pop it back in (usually in the form of a 50m big name signing)
Most of the pieces released today about Solksjaer are all pretty damning for United. The executive branch have all been caught out over this terrible run of form and never expected it to happen.
Journalists are talking about the shortlist of managers from 2018 before Olé was appointed permanently. We should have been complaining a new list on the chance that things would go bad. But we haven't and now we're scrambling. Get the feeling that the Glazers would much rather he magic a few good results from nowhere and let him keep his job.

All this will disappear come the weekend, when Man Utd bukkake Spurs.
Then it’s full on #NunOut from there on.
Then it’s full on #NunOut from there on.
Thing is, I can actually see us doing ok over the next three fixtures. We won't try and implement a suicidal pressing system which leaves us exposed at the back. Olé will revert to what he knows. Sitting deep and hitting on the counter. But any positive results which may come from that will still be with a style of play which will never win us the league. Which leaves us back to the question of why are we wasting our time with Solksjaer.
Ole is like I am in my contractor roles.
Sometimes good, sometimes shit but always surviving the sack.
Sometimes good, sometimes shit but always surviving the sack.
For real, what's the endgame here?
A manager who's out of his depth and a game away from the sack ain't going to inspire a team or be successful.
I get it, there was no plan in place and the run of results caught the board off guard, exposing their own lack of footballing nous. But still, this is a publicallybtraded company and there was no risk management or succession planning?
Poor governance.

They need more time because they simply have not planned for this. They will never plan for this.
Big game for us the neet, QPR away in the league cup. You'd expect Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs/City/Liverpool to win their games so it'd be nice to be able to play and HUMILIATE one of them after.
Jason Burt of the Telegraph is reporting the same thing as Miguel Delaney; Solksjaer has three games to save his job, but a result similar to the Liverpool one will see him sacked before the three games are up.
Thing is, if we've gotten to the point where he has just three games to save his job then it's better just to sack him. Things have clearly gotten to a terrible point. Also, I'm almost certain there won't be another repeat if the 0-5. That was done because Olé implemented a system he hasn't coaches into his players (which is a sackabke) offence in its own right. We'll play turtle ball against Spurs and City and maybe best Spurs and lose by a goal or two against City.

The point is they got caught with their pants down, they have no plan, they're playing for more time, and they want Ole to get a win against Atalanta so we're through the CL group stage for the next manager.
There is pretty much no set of results that won't see him sacked at the international break.

Couldn't convince Klopp or Pep to take over, got in Moyes, and probably helped Ole get successive long term contracts. Other lot aren't any better either.

My point is that it doesn't matter what supporters or customers or whatever do, owners of big club will make money.

Tickets? Jerseys? TV packages? These aren't sizable profits? OK, I didn't realize that.
My point is that if you're supporting a product (which is what man red is to the people that actually own it) regardless of results and success, why would the people that own that product care that you're unhappy? They're still making money. Your dissatisfaction with the product they sell can't be that high considering you're still paying them. Until your dissatisfaction actually affects their pockets, they won't care. This is like saying that people that buy Apple products day one and are unhappy with them should continue to buy them because Apple will still make insane profits so it doesn't really matter in the end.
But whatever, I'm not gonna keep arguing with you lol. We can disagree.

Seen the Ten Hag/Overmars combo rumour for the past week, can't see it though. Just don't see him leaving an Ajax team that is having a great CL season to try and keep us up.
Reckon it'll be Fonseca or Favre
Too bad for United that there's a new sugar daddy out there willing to gazump them to a new manager.

There's no one in the backroom staff to realistically do care taker duty, such is their level of inexperience (Carrick / McKenna) or just unsuitability (Phelan).
They're basically forcing him to get the best out of the next 3 and then sacking him, because his relationship with the squad is not yet too toxic to continue.
By Meier Go To PostSorry to hear that, Penny. I know Germany has a few weeks off for winter break.. can't come soon enough for you guys it sounds like.It happens every once in a while. Still remember before Klopp we've had a season were 5 people tore their ACL alongside other players having long term injuries.
Our bench is pretty miserable to be honest and there are some injuries where you can't really plan shit. Reyna was supposed to be back already for like a month.
Good thing the quality of the league this season is abysmal. Apart from Bayern and a few teams playing well for their level (Köln, Mainz, Freiburg), there's just no stability with other clubs. All those new coaches at Gladbach, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Wolfsburg and partially Neverkusen are struggling with their team. Teams that got promoted are piss poor as well.
