Don't want to listen to Neville here. Was funny during the game how reluctant he was to say that Ole is at fault.
By inky Go To PostOr we could've had a proper manager in that time and still seen actual progress.
True. Doesn’t erase my enjoyment though.
By Punished* Go To PostDon't want to listen to Neville here. Was funny during the game how reluctant he was to say that Ole is at fault. He got pretty critical of Solksjaer and Carrick near the end of the game. Talking about how poor the press was and how the defence had no cover. Still think he could have been more forceful about it tho.
By Meier Go To PostI usually avoid putting Utd players in my fantasy team.. have never had Penandes. I changed course and added Ronaldo after his first game and he's only scored 1 in 5 now, lol. I know once I ditch him he'll go on a tear again though.
I dunno. Salah is just so clincal.. I could see us struggling to get the goals in the same situations.
Brother, we have Foden.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI think Pochettino is great and getting a side who are miles behind the top three or four clubs in terms of transfer fees and wages to play great football and constantly finish in the top two or three is a sign he could do a great job with a better side or one with more resources and a similar profile (young, homegrown, good on the counter). I don’t see his job at PSG affecting my view of him because of the specifics of that role. But I don't see how it wouldn't?
I understand thinking that Poch is a huge step up for this amateur you poached from some 2nd division league team in Norway, but Poch is not going to do much at United except making them somewhat respectable.
By Hitch Go To PostSky should have done whatever it takes to replace Defoe with Keane at half time
Shame theres no MNF tomorrow.

Because PSG is a bunch of starry individuals who have been lumped together where literally winning the league title is not good enough. That isn’t reflective of the realities of what Poch does.
Sick of the whole “vibes” talk. It has been 8 years, enough of the whole process shit, you can develop young players while still playing good football and competing for titles.
What’s happening right now is just the fallout from last season, the whole “getting better” was straight up bs. Sancho and Varane in, Ronaldo, team performs worse across the board. Enough is enough, get this BUM out of here.

Crusher's had enough! Should never have brought Ronaldo back.
By pulga Go To PostLeave Zidane alone thank you, don't need you lads breaking himHe's going to PSG.
Vibes to the detriment of success isn't for me, and that was always going to be the case for the duration of Ole's tenure. Give me both. One of the best things FSG did was sacking Kenny when they could easily have stuck with him.
By domino Go To PostZidane Conte or bust.
Preferably Zidane for me
Zidane is far more suited to PSG.
Don’t really see how Poch’s career is that different than Tuchel’s. Him being sacked for not winning the CL at PSG rightly did not affect his chances of being hired by Chelsea, despite a lack of silverware elsewhere.

Prior to Chelsea was the comparison I was making.
Tuchel was at Mainz and won nothing, then Dortmund and only won Pokal.
At PSG they will win the same shit.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWhat does "vibes" even mean in sporting context? What a strange discussion lol.
Sentimentality and a style of football that allows players to showcase their individual ability. If it's all you've got, you'll win fuck all. Think the first year or so under Lampard.

They had 2 shots on target the whole game.

It means enjoying the game and not worrying too much about winning, for me. What most clubs outside of rarified air experience.
Liverpool clearly took their foot of the gas in that second half too. Should have been a worse result again for us.

By n8 dogg Go To PostBecause PSG is a bunch of starry individuals who have been lumped together where literally winning the league title is not good enough. That isn’t reflective of the realities of what Poch does. But it is reflective of his inability to deal with them. Let's take Zidane as an example, do you think PSG's locker room is more toxic than Zidane's Madrid was when he was winning the CL? I have a hard time believing that. Is Zidane as sound, from a tactical standpoint, as Poch? Are his training sessions actual things that improve players individually and the team as a whole? Probably not, even though Poch's defensive process isn't anything remarkable for current football. Zidane is akin to a bricklayer. He's like a bald Ancelotti. Rudimentary training sessions, rudimentary offensive and defensive processes, but he can manage men and egos. Somehow Zidane had much more better man management skills than Poch and that allowed him to do fantastically well in the CL.
So, to me (and my opinion is usually wrong anyway), Poch is an OK manager that will make United respectable, but that's about it.
Is he good at managing players with egos? Clearly not. Does United have egos? Yes, they do.
Is he remarkable at creating a brand of football and developing both attack and defense to be efficient and overwhelming when needed? Eh. He's OK.
You'll be better suited with Conte, really. Nobody is gonna touch what Klopp and Guardiola are doing for a while. That level is not attainable without great managers and great players being together for extended periods of time. Is Poch even able to compete with Tuchel? I don't think he is.
But it's just an opinion.
By Cleff Go To PostLiverpool clearly took their foot of the gas in that second half too. Should have been a worse result again for us.What the toe licker Scholesy said after the Atalanta was prophetic in hindsight.
"…if you do that against Manchester City or Liverpool, it'll be 3 or 4-0 at half time. You'll be out of the game, you're not coming back.
Imagine Jurgen Klopp at home watching that game, rubbing his hands together."
By Fergie Go To PostWhy is Di Maria even mentioned in this tweet?
By Punished* Go To PostI don't think Neville is saying anything of substance here. He’s pathologically frightened of criticising the manager and he’s going to give himself an aneurysm if he keeps trying to argue around it.
By Scum Go To PostScholes knew.He should be given the opportunity to see if he can do any better. Put his money where his daughter's toes have been.
There's no guarantee Olé gets sacked btw. Glazers have renewed Phelans contract and are negotiating with the other coaches. He won't resign either.

But results have a way of making the position untenable. Once you are out of top 4 you are messing with the Glazer's money, and we are in line to finish 8th or so.
