Agree with N8.
Liverpool first XI is the best still in the league.
The best CB.
Best forward line.
Midfield that does exactly what's required with imo one of the top 3 CDMs in the league.

By n8 dogg Go To PostIn what world is AWB better than Azpi and Walker? They can defend and attack lolNever he was, I said you can make the argument.
Sure the team isnt as good, player by player, as direct rivals. But the questions these days is more like, is the team better than Everton's? Then why the struggle. And Aston Villa, and Villarreal, etc
By Perfect Blue Go To PostThank fuck

If I was putting together an XI of the top 4, I'd go:
Alisson; Azpilicueta, van Dijk, Maguire, Robertson; De Bruyne, Fabinho, Fernandes; Salah, Lukaku, Mane
Chelsea and City have lots of really, really good options that are marginally weaker than some of the options here (e.g. Mount or Kante, Gundogan or Dias). Better squads than Liverpool and United is why they're favourites for the league.

agreed, that's on Ole.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostWow what a piece of play
By cRrusheR Go To PostI know Conte isn't the right fit, he's a top manager but it's the wrong club/squad.
Yep. Again, I think Poch would be great. Think our front line (sans Ronaldo) is just the right profile and age for him to work wonders with.
By n8 dogg Go To PostYou are right that our coach is much worse than the other 3, but this too I'd quibble with.
Is De Gea better than Alisson, Ederson or Mendy?
- No, no, maybe.
Is Wan-Bissaka better than Alexander-Arnold, Walker, or Azpilicueta?
- No, no, no.
Are Maguire and Varane better than Van Dijk and Matip, Laporte and Dias, and Silva and Rudiger?
- Maybe, maybe, probably.
Is Shaw better than Robertson, Cancelo and Alonso?
- Maybe, maybe, yes.
Are Bruno/Fred/McTominay better than Thiago/Henderson/Fabinho, Rodri/Gundogan/De Bruyne, and Kante/Jorginho/Mount?
- No, no, no.
Is Greenwood better than Salah, Torres and Werner?
- No, maybe, probably.
Is Ronaldo better than Firmino, Jesus and Lukaku? (and extra question: does he fit with the team's profile more?)
- Probably, yes, maybe (but no, no, no).
Is Rashford better than Mane, Grealish and Havertz?
- No, maybe, maybe.
I think Liverpool still have the strongest first XI in the league but the weakest depth of the top 4.
Yeah fair enough. I’m just talking shit and starting a conversation.
City has insane depth and midfield talent, but they’re very light on forwards, relying on Jesus alone, and still don’t have a decent left back.
Liverpool probably do have the best first XI when you consider how good Salah, Van Dijk, TAA, Alisson, Fabinho and Firmino are. There’s at least one world class player in every zone of the pitch. But our midfield struggles to control games and our depth is lacking (though with breakout seasons from Tsimikas, Elliott, and the consistent growth of Jones, it seems we’re improving).
Your midfield of McFred is your weak-point, but goals win games which win titles, and in terms of goal-scorers you’ve got Pogba, Ronaldo, Rashford, and Fernandes. And even though I think Sancho has been crap so far I think he’ll come good in time (I’m just milking it while i can)
Chelsea has a very well rounded team with a good coach. I think attackers is where they’re weakest, but their defenders score goals, so who needs strikers lol

Cancelo does a pretty great job there tbf

Pogba defo doesn't score enough, and I think Ronaldo being the focal point means Bruno's output will be lesser.
What a fucking ball from barkley (?) to azpilicueta for the 2-1 goal. Also good volley from chilwell
By Oddinho Go To PostCHO was really impressive. It’s about time someone at Chelsea gave him his chance.
He was very good today. But he also has quite a few chances and looked terrible before

Pogba hasn’t scored a lot this season, but his chance creation is a massive boon to all your other attackers. His passes in attacking areas are pin-point and prescient, and he’s always there too. I include him not because he scores himself, he just elevates the scoring potential of the team.
By Punished Dean Go To PostNo Bissouma in the Brighton team is good for us, hopefully we can continue from last week.

True enough, but he's also shunted out wide because he isn't as good (well, as effective) as Bruno in this side and can't be trusted in a pivot. He is likely our most talented player - but I think the pace of the PL is too much for him to effectively shine as much as he could. He needs more time on the ball than he often has, and he still pulls good numbers out because he's ludicrously talented. Just can't play out of a press.
No surprise his best period in a United shirt was Ole's first six months when he was our only star.
If AWB was in our first XI he'd easily be the first player I'd want replaced.

By Hitch Go To PostBeing good at slide tackles doesn't cut it.Needing to slide tackle just means you’re desperate and got caught out of position IMO. Zouma had so many highlight reel last ditch tackles that all came because he got cooked previously in the run up 💀
We had an AWB in our team: a reliable 6/10 player who doesn’t add to our attack and teams don’t mind giving possession to.

I hate it when refs leave it to the players to kick it out instead of stopping play. Blow the fucking whistle.

Wins ball passes it right back to opposition is a troublesome combo and AWB excels at it.

Unfortunately Ole came in clutch when Poch was available.
