Entirely too much dedication, I'm more like Aunty Entity and Lord Humungus, all about the fun of the raid and also giving autonomy to my people.
Just got done opening up the shutters but yea everything is fine for me. Had internet and electricity throughout so wasn't bad for where I was through I live really close to South Sound which was the hardest hit. The wealthy that live on the south sound waterfront got it pretty bad I guess due to some storm surge. I honestly just slept through the whole thing. Hurricanes below a category 4 are not real threat to this island.
there were a lot of accidents out here recently because bikers were catching heat exhaustion on the road just cooking in their gear
its flagrant af rn

Heat exhaustion/heat stroke is probably next on the block of banned terms like climate change et al because of how common it will be and lead to a ton of deaths ( it is already btw). They just had "issues" with a "particular summer weather phenomenon" Dy.
Speaking of things being fine
It reached 110, expecting the same for tomorrow.
Friday’s high temperature here is expected to reach 105 degrees, two degrees higher than the current record for the day of 103 degrees set in 2023.
The high on Saturday is expected to top 106 degrees. That too would be a record, toppling a 103-degree record high set in 1994, the whether service noted.

By Pac-7.5 Go To PostHurricane Milton is going to fuck up some lives.

Goddamn, just a few days ago they were saying maybe a 3.

It's gone from 3 to a 5 in like 24 hours. Every forecast keeps getting blown out of the water hours after it's posted ...
This one is huge not only in intensity but size. Storm surge is going to be absolutely catastrophic.

I made the mistake of checking comments on twitter, and of course there's denial about what's causing these storms to ramp up so rapidly now.
By Kabro Go To PostKatrina sustained winds of 175, but weakened when it made landfall, iirc.
Yeah it was Cat 5 in the gulf and weakened to a Cat 3 before making landfall.
Milton is just spiraling around looking for his stapler, he warned everyone. I heard it. You're telling me you didn't hear it? Fuck off, you heard it.
By Pac-7.5 Go To Postjust fix it with a sharpie bro
Hurricane Kirk got wrote off the show offscreen, it's sad
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostThere's another one coming after Milton?during hurricane season, there are always a handful of active storms at any given time. it's more rare for there to be only a single hurricane active in the area.
they just generally aren't publicized much if they are far away or haven't yet achieved hurricane status. used to track them all the time using the storm tracker kits they gave out at mcdonalds as part of kids happy meals.

I know there can be multiples, I thought it was just Kirk and Milton, but apparently this is the first time in October that 3 have been spinning at the same time.
ahh, i gotcha now.
i guess i just grew up desensitized to them for whatever reason. they only get on my radar once it becomes evident that they will impact near my area. honestly, the ones that scare me the most, even if it doesn't make sense, are the ones that just sit in the gulf and get bigger and bigger because you have no idea what size they will be, when they will start moving again, or in which direction they will end up going. fuck those indecisive bastards.
