The way the games are televised, the imagery, the sets, the music editing, the video replays, the animations, the camera angles, the pre/post discussions, the story and narratives, etc. This is 50% of the secret sauce IMO.
The actual quality of the games are pretty good too, though very janky and jarring at times when compared to La Liga games. In the PL there is a lot of hoof ball with the exception of some teams which are setup to build from the back and hold possesion.
It’s in English, which I think is the biggest thing. The international language and all. The English media sphere is the easiest to penetrate for English-speaking countries. The runaway success of the PL came mostly as overseas viewership skyrocketed, and I think that’s the biggest reason.
I still can't believe Bayern got Sabitzer for so cheap. Big for them to hold on to Olmo though and Moriba should be a major player right away. I really want Leipzig to do well for Jesse Marsch's sake.
