Yet another terrible decision by the processors. The way we just gave up on him was disgraceful.
God I hate this club. Fuck Arsenal.
By Cleff Go To PostSpanish papers saying bar some unforeseen event Griezmann will leave Barca this summer.Quoting for the new page.
Tbh I'm not sure how they can say that with such certainty. He's 30 years old and on €600k per week. Who is gonna pay that?
Also, Barca are monumentally fucked in the short term. Griezmann hasn't been a huge success. He's still one of the world's best forwards, but plays in similar positions to Messi. Barca were never going to get the best from him in such circumstances.
But he's still a better player than Depay or Aguero. So Barca will be getting rid of a better player for two guys who won't improve them. All in the name of balancing a budget they fucked up a few years ago trying to attract Griezmann, Coutinho, Dembele et al.

Brighton are definitely looking to do a thing next season. They bought Caicedo last winter to bolster the midfield long term. Mwepu to help with attacks from midfield. And if they sign Dan James they have improved their attack on paper by quite a bit.

when did they introduce salary caps in footy? thought such blatently socialist things are reserved for americans.
By bud Go To Postis this dude the only source? do we even know for sure that it's true?Yeah the whole thing strikes me as a bit weird: they're over the cap even without Messi? how come they were allowed to register players last year? And they're 200million over? Looking at Laboured's table, the average without Messi seems to be 10m, so does that mean they need to get rid of 20 players?
The numbers seem a bit off
How has Edu still not sorted out Smith-Rowe's new contract, this club is an absolute shambles. If we sell him to Villa we might as well shut down.
Did Enrique really ask people who like Spanish food to support them?
I guess 60,000 Italian fans today.

Barcelona are absolutely f*cked up. They exceeded the salary cap last year and the excess is deducted from this year’s. Their limit for this season is rumored to be 160M. They will exceed that only in amortization costs. No new signings will be possible and there will still be an excess to be further deducted for the 22-23 season. They are not in the mud, but meters below. They are going to become a Plc, owned by Goldman-Sachs.Not sure how they announced signings without being able to officially sign them though.

By FootbalIFan Go To PostNah you're remembering correctly about the fans revoltingI guess when the whole system is built and based around 1 player then it becomes critical path in ensuring that player remains there as long as possible, the boards decision is shortsighted but understandable. I'm not totally sure how unhappy Messi is in staying at Barcelona tbh, he comes off as any other player pushing for better contract terms with antics from both sides of the isle. If Messi really wanted to leave, he would have.
But the board didn't cave because of it. Messi was going to be made to stay regardless, fans revolt or not. They weren't listening to offers or sticking to their word of letting him go before his final season(foolish for messi to believe someone's word though). Messi was staying no matter what and that's what made him unhappy.
The fans just wanted the board gone at that point for letting it get to that stage and the incompetence build up over the years

I was reading your posts in regards to Barca and Messi - which I appreciate - but haven't responded
The issue with Barca's wage structure is not Messi, and how exuberantly expensive he is to please, but the other signings they had made. The gave the rest of the squad wage inflated contracts which is the crux of the problem.
I mean who the fuck pays Dembele that much!
I personally think Messi is worth every penny, but you gotta build smart around him and not chuck money wherever you please.

Does he want to leave and is he unhappy now? Doubt it

I wonder how our finances compare. My understanding is that we had a net profit in 19/20 and lost around 15m-20m in 20/21. From what I gather, it seems as though we're in an OK position, though not fully healthy obviously given the latest antics with the SL and all. We seem to be in a position to make a big signing this year or next and the renovations are well underway to completion by next year - this should net some 10m-15m per year going forward.

True.
I am just wondering about the stadium refurbishment. thats taking ages
It’s okay they’ll still get Haaland.
PSG got a decent back line. Donnarumma, Hakimi, Kimpembe, Marquinhos. Don’t remember who is LB. Bernat or some shit.

The Hazard signing has been a disaster though, money literally down the drain.

Kimpembe at 97 is one of the very best CB's in PES 21 Season Update. The best left footed CB for sure.
