I think the problem here is that trying to replace like for like is just an absurd way to go about it for Spurs. Accept that top 4 is out and gamble on prospects from other leagues. What’s the difference between finishing 7th and finishing 10th or 11th??
By Xpike Go To Posti can sell you an alexandre lacazette for 60mI can throw in a Jovic at 55m #forthefuture
Cleff in. Levy out.

Spurs have every right to demand whatever they feel is right for their star player and the best player in the league last season. Man City are about to spend 100m on Grealish and I feel Kane is worth more than that.
I'll stick with what I've said for months. City won't pay what Levy is demanding so it's all moot. Both sides should move on as it isn't happening. I think Grealish is a fantastic player so I'll be happy if we get him in, but Kane would obviously be more of a difference maker for our squad. Grealish is more of a luxury signing and we'll have to sell a midfielder (or midfielders) not to afford him, but to accommodate his inclusion. A striker other than Kane should have been priority #1. Even if it's just more of a prospect (40m or less) with a goal of getting Haaland or Kane the following year.
By Andrew Go To PostSpurs are not replacing Kane for £100m, £150m, or even £200m.It's not possible for basically any club. There's one number 9 out there I rate better or as good as Kane, and he plays for Bayern. But you take your money and buy someone not as good and hope to spread the talent around the squad
It’s just not possible for that club.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostI wonder if Ole has put any thought to him playing back in the holding midfield role he played at BlackburnI think at this point he is just hoping he doesn't die immediately after he touches a blade of grass.

The same way the club did not, and could not, replace Bale is applicable here.
Even if Harry Kane 2.0 existed (he doesn't), he sure as hell isn't going to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

Hey and I just re-watched Moneyball the other night and all.
Spurs have bought Gil and look likely to sign Romero. So that's a good start. They've strengthened areas of the side the needed strengthening.
If Kane goes then there's a huge gap they'll never be able to fill. Best thing you can do is sign someone decent and hope he can get 15 goals in the league. Danny Ings maybe? Then spend the rest on someone really good elsewhere. But they'll need more than what City initially offered for that to happen.

Spurs should try constructing an attack not 100% dependent on two players scoring virtually every shot they take imho.

Don't like the sound of that at all.

You know I've always said DDG should remain our first choice GK.
People have told me to stop saying it because I say it so much.

Wonder if 100m+ Gabriel Jesus would interest you lads
By Killer7 Go To PostYou still got that Vinicious lad?Nah, he was a loan with an option. Don't think we'd rank Jesus as a £50m player, no when Vlahovic might be available to a bit less

Spurs can't replace Kane. He is unique in that he scores like a nine and creates better than a lot of 10s out there. Best thing is to buy a very good 9 and buy a very good creator/10. They had the right idea in going for Bruno all those summer ago but they penny pinched and we got him, but yeah they need a creator who also scores in that way Frenandes does.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostSurprised that Man Utd / Arsenal didn't sign him. He's really good
By Elchele Go To PostSurprised that Man Utd / Arsenal didn't sign him. He's really goodAre you? He's the classic example of a young player who's had a big debut season and then just failed to follow up; he could just as easily be the next Keita Balde as he could be the next Son Heung Min.
Will football actually get serious about banning heading from the game? Seeing a lot of news articles lately homing on it as of late. The reaction from fans would be… interesting to say the least.

lol no. cant even be serious about banning concussions
By Wahabipapagooz Go To Postlol no. cant even be serious about banning concussionsWhat do you mean by banning concussions? Seems like those just happen in the course of a game by accident by knocking into an opposing player, for example. Taking a header is a pretty deliberate and purposeful act.
You’re probably right that they won’t but I don’t get the comparison there.
I mean banning them just walking straight on again, of course.
The comparison is that no, they wont drastically change the game, to protect players, when they cant even get serious about protecting people who actually got hurt and getting them subbed out, which is a fairly normal part of the game.

There obviously is no real effort to curb it from happening or to truly even react once it has.

Saw something today about City that pretty much said from this windows outgoing players, the Sancho sell on clause and the Sane sale (as it’s included in this seasons sales and not last for some reason) we‘ve brought in around £100m.
Getting Grealish and Kane isn’t out of the question financially I guess but Txiki has his work cut out now.
