If the one club he seems to want to go to won't bid his market value, then not showing up to training is a prick move. Supposedly he'll be sold if the offer that comes through is reasonable, but if City don't want to raise above 100m, I don't really see what goal of this is, other than to cause a commotion.
I agree but it’s one of those situations where there isn’t enough public info. It obviously reflects badly on Kane that he isn’t training, but when it’s Levy it isn’t too far of a stretch to wonder if Levy is just ignoring this supposed agreement. Which, regardless of City’s interest or lack of, would be grounds for Kane to go nuclear.
You're still allowed to be extremely fucked off at a breach of trust even if it doesn't constitute a breach of contract. No way this doesn't turn nasty now.
All this "well you shouldn't have trusted Levy" stuff doesn't fly for me.

If, as his agent leaked, we would accept 160m, then we're not the people standing in his way. City are.
It's not a breach of trust to say we want more than 100m in a summer where the same team just put in a 100m bid for Jack Grealish

The huge elephant in the room being whether anyone is willing to stump up £150m this summer though....

The “agreement” would just mean that we reluctantly consider offers that match our valuation. Not that we let City have him on the cheap. They just offered £100m for Grealish who is not even half the player Kane is and who is only 2 years younger.
If City are going to buy him they are going to have to drop this pretence that there are limits to what they can afford and show everyone the real power of their blood money. If Kane thinks Levy will yield on his valuation to City of all clubs, he has made a terrible mistake.

Yeah I agree with that, that's why I also suspect there's more going on than meets the eye.
If the only thing stopping the move is a lack of City bid, I don't think Kane would be refusing to train. He might want a move but he knows he can't possibly get one without a bid.
We are branding our figures such £150 million like it’s nothing

Verbal agreement he can leave, gave him his word, then didn't keep it once messi asked to
But Messi #stayed and maybe #H will too
He might be doing this in hopes it will drive his price down. No idea if that works with Levy, but I think Modric and Bale pulled the same move right?
If City do sign him, I hope it means we can push for Haaland next summer without them being in the picture.

Why doesn't City just pay the price? They're a state-backed team, what is their worry in signing one of the best 9's really?

Absolutely cannot wait for City to do something extremely performative like take out a loan to be able to afford Kane.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostWhy doesn't City just pay the price? They're a state-backed team, what is their worry in signing one of the best 9's really?Because City have avoided the mega money signings for a few years since it gives the impression that they're still a rule abiding club funding transfers through revenue and sales. Smasing their record and the english record twice will destroy what little credibility they still have.
That being said, I did see a rather hilarious post to the soccer subreddit claiming that signing Grealish wouldn't affect their ability to sign Kane as they had already funded Grealish's signing through sales. Apparently they hadn't spent the Sane money yet (??) and also raised 50m from selling youth (transfermarkt suggests closer to 30m).

the biggest problem with signing kane is the the opportunity cost, it pretty much cuts off any chance of signing actual generational talents like mbappe/haaland. personally i don't want kane, and price doesn't have much to do with it.

Should have had a buyout clause if he was concerned about Levy pricing him out of the market.
Naive, to say the least.
Gonna say this.
Kane is shite. Would take Immobile over him any day. Give me someone who has won something, and can score goals. And I should say this, I wouldn’t take Immobile on a free.
Grealish?
100 million.
Is the Premiership more of a money laundering scheme than previously thought?
Never impressed me. Flopped on the biggest stage of his life.

Kane didn't look 100% at the euro's, not sure if he was carrying an injury or just simply exhausted but he looked 50% at best.

Is this a shit "funny" post or are you actually calling Kane "shite"? Because both are fucking woeful.
Kane leaving for £100m does nothing for Spurs. Could get maybe one genuine quality forward/striker for the Kane fee but not enough for a second. And with respect to Kanes replacement he just wouldn't be as good.
They should stick to the fuck off price.

For real though, any clubs in the big leagues not looking at Wahid Faghir at the moment, are out of their minds. Far from the finished product (i mean he only just turned 18, so obviously), but this kid got it all to just keep taking the next steps up. Great mentality, good finisher and real stronk. One of the most exciting players coming out of Denmark for a long time imo. Reminds me of Bendtner but without having his brain replaced with dog shit. #woodenscout

Actually I think they should take the opportunity and invest on rebuilding. Forcing Kane to stay is just asking for trouble when results don’t get any better than last season.

By cRrusheR Go To PostActually I think they should take the opportunity and invest on rebuilding. Forcing Kane to stay is just asking for trouble when results don’t get any better than last season. The rebuild would have to start with a striker as Kane is literally the only one with any experience in the squad. Then that's £60m or 70m spent on someone who won't be as good as Kane. Then they've very little of that money to make signings elsewhere.
Spurs shouldn't entertain anything below £130m.
By Scum Go To PostCleff’s ‘avin none of it! #FMIf this were FM I'd ship out half the starting team, sign as many 5* prospects as possible and still manage to finish top 10 for a few seasons because the game AI is like that.

oh wow man city getting kane and grealish imagine how pathetic it'll be when they lose the cl next year again
The thing is that Kane is both our best goalscorer and best creator, we would have to buy two elite players to replace his contribution. So it's got to be £150m+ for it to be acceptable.
