Off topic but it's 10 years (and a few weeks) since the last ASOIAF book came out. I remember you guys talking about ADWD on the old site when it came out.

By Wahabipapagooz Go To Postdo we know that he isnt?I know that the Austrian team didn't get vaccinated before the Euros, unless something changed.
The team behind them got their vaccine, but the footy team didn't get it during their preparation or earlier cause they didn't want to have side effects during that time.
At least that's what I read in May. Might have changed and he got a shot. Besides I think he would have a shot at playing the first game, if he had the vaccine.

Zero chance he ever finishes. TV show sucked all the motivation out of him.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostVaccination doesn't stop people from getting infected and transmitting it.
By n8 dogg Go To PostYou can still get covid ya know
I know. Just cause they ruled him out for the start sounds like he's got the mandatory 14 days out for those that don't have a vaccine yet.

Pennywise absolutely wrecked.
Doubt he's gonna finish them, well at least both of them. Winds of Winter should be something he'll finish.
I wonder if they're already putting pressure on him, given that the new show is based on his Fire & Blood book, where he also still needs to deliever the second book. Given that they start further ahead instead of the start of the book, there's less material to use...

I mean what are you expecting?
He's not gonna push out more sample chapters, especially if he revisits them and already released a dozen.
Going by his earlier foolish attempts to give updates in terms of a schedule, he fully decided against doing that ever again.
Only real update is gonna be when he's saying it's done.
But going by his blog posts, he got a lot of writing done while being in quarantine.

.
I was working retail at the time (a lifetime ago) and remember going the Tesco in the centre of Belfast on my lunch break only to be told by the lady that they didn't have "dancing with dragons." It was the 12th of July, of course - so unsurprising.
Those 10 years have taken everything. It's gone. The community, the speculation, the passion.
I read a sample chapter, years ago now, and it was brilliant - truly brilliant. Victarion it was, but it could have been any number of others. I truly wonder if we will ever see what GRRM is so clearly capable of again.
I never read those books, or saw the shows, but I saw an interview with him once, and something about the guy was just really relaxing to me.

I started reading them around the end of season 3 or 4 of the TV show so when Stoneheart popped up in ASOS that was a big holy shit moment and my best memory of the books.
By Andrew Go To PostIt's sad.Around that time I remember being in HMV and the guy at the till kept going on about how I should go to a GRRM signing he was doing there and I thought "I've never even heard of this, let me buy my CD of Dinosaur Jr - Bug." CDs, that's how long ago that was.

Finished the mistborn series before among a few others, but I read the Fire and Blood book from GRRM, which is basically the targaryen history from the moment they set foot on Westeros. Incredible book and some really amazing stories he had there. The major reason apart from D&D not being involved, that I'm really interested how the series will be.
That pushed me to the point where I wanted to re-read the entire series again.
I think I also started with season 3 or 4 and just couldn't stop reading. Went so far that I slept with the book in my hand more than a few times and woke up and wondered what the hell happened.
Currently in Dorne. Even though that part isn't really as good as others, it's still so incredible well done compared to the shitty part in the series.
Hell, even Mereen with Belwas and Barristan is so much better.
By faridmon Go To PostLove the 3rd kit!I really like the look of this but when Everton lose wearing it there are gonna be a ton of jokes about being run over by a truck (or lorry I suppose).

Flat Go To Postflabber is the one true and real book expertDostoyevsky is entertaining in the way that any schlocky literature can be, but let's be honest: it's overly long, replete with clumsy prose, and features innumerable caricatures of ideas and people, with unrealistic situations, circumstances, and scenes crafted to belch out his reactionary opinions.
