I am sorry to inform Spurs fans that Bryan Gil's calves are quite small and are almost certainly lacking for Regulation EPL Activities.
Pretty enthused by the probable signing if Varane. He's a very good CB and linking him with Maguire means we have two excellent individuals who'll hopefully develop a great partnership.
I still think we would have been better off prioritising a DM who can shield the defence and progress the ball. It would've solved the big problem we have with creativity in midfield and also made up for some of the deficiencies in Maguire and Lindelofs defensive game.
But Varane will improve us overall so this is nothing but a positive signing.

Kind of flummoxed that we beat Costa Rica. Will probably get wrecked by Mexico, alas.
By Xpike Go To Postpretty bold strategy by real madrid to let their best CBs go without replacementsthere's a strategy behind florentino's shithouse knowledge of football? I thought we all agreed he was a moron when he wanted to let makelele go because he only passed backwards and sideways?

We basically need a younger Matic that can sit and shield the back 4 and help control games. Not sure who we will be targetting for that position that can come in and start.
By Killer7 Go To PostThink we might go for a DM now but need to get some outs too.I hope we go for a DM, but like you said, once we sign Varane it's more about trying to generate money from sales. And that's always a dicey prospect.

The signing of Sancho and Varane fills two big problem areas of the squad. If we signed a competent DM it would be the best transfer window we've ever had.
By Xpike Go To Postpretty bold strategy by real madrid to let their best CBs go without replacementsFYI our best CBs last season were Nacho and Militao, even when/if Varane and Ramos were not injured and available. Who the fuck knows what happens when these 2 get injured next season, though some of the Castilla kids are showing good signs.
Our best RB was Vasquez, by far out best player last season second to Benzema.
Our best LB was Mendy, even the Castilla kid looked really good, better than whatever Marcelo is offering these days.
If we can keep Hazard and Bale semi-fit we're winning the league, no questions, even with an aging Modric.

How about winning 4 CLs (5? I can't keep up) during his second stint while Barca had a front 3 of Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Also renovating the SB, seems to be inching closer to locking/,winning more league titles frequently, signing not insignificant players (i.e., Hazard though who the fuck knew he was THIS broken) and finally with a balance sheet that isn't a total disaster all things considering.
I really think some of you have this skewed view of other teams for whatever the reason and it's somewhat disconnected with reality, making for fun readings. There isn't any other presi I would want to replace uncle Flo with. I mean look at the disaster fuck our rivals are... Atletico finances aren't trailing far behind either, their time is ticking too.

Florention Perez is selling a bunch of players so they can try to sign Mbappe. It's not a complicated or necessarily bad strategy

What about winning 4 or 5 CLs? The CL is hardly a competition that measures how balanced and well thought out a team is. That's what the domestic league is for. Is Zidane a better manager than SAF? Is Di Matteo a better manager than Klopp? Plus La Liga is what it is, you have 3 teams. Between 2010 and 2020 you won 3 league title, even with competition amounting to 3 clubs. Is this a record to be proud of? I understand prioritizing the CL, as Madrid ALWAYS do, but winning 3 leagues in the span of 10 years is laughable at best.
In any case, there's very little to save that racist cuntface's face. He has no knowledge of football, he buys players based on how much branding he can get with them, except with manager demands every now and then. What's he good with? Money? He's shit with money too, Madrid's finances seem to be entirely dependent on bank loans and fucking with the country's economy. I can be a great money manager too if I can use whatever resources I need as long as I keep myself in check and don't tank the entire country's economy too much.
He's like an idiot savant gifted with presiding over arguably the biggest and most popular team in the world. As long as he does not fuck up too bad he'll be successful in some capacity.
Talk about skewed view.
Not even gonna bring up the fact he basically tried to destroy football as we know because of how good he is with money.

If Higuain is such a lazy arse, why is he even tracking back? Just tell him to stay in the penalty area for the entire match, at least then he'll always be available for attacks

With regards to CL or league titles, I will never trade what we did in the past 10 years even if it meant our rivals were steam rolling the league titles. It's no secret Barca had built a super team around an era where they were lucky to have younglings in their youth teams - we were never going to be able to constantly compete when a prime Neymar, Suarez and Messi were being fed balls by Inesta. And kudos to Prinny for sticking with Simeone, they have done some wonder at Atletico.
Winning 3 league titles in the last 10 years seems like a failure, but we need to be realistic when measuring the league with the teams that were around while competiting for 4-5 titles each year. Mind you, I welcome you to check how close we were in winning some of the seasons where we ended up losing, I recall losing 3 leagues by a point or 2 in the last 10 years. 1 point could have balanced the scale in the league many times.
It's far fetched to call Florentino an idiot. I get that he's the fallout guy regarding the SL and his execution and PR was a total disaster but his second stint with Madrid has been nothing but success, probably our second most successful president in our history - that say something.
You're making it sound like Madrid are being fed state money ala the Qatari and Saudi's in bank-rolling some teams. That's neither here or there. Madrid are fan owned and are setup to be a non-profit entity who recieve tax exemptions, this is very different that the shit the gulf countries are doing. I'm not delusional, Madrid (and the other 3-4 teams in Spain) recieve unfair treatment in some regards, not to mention the TV money being distributed unequally (though thi sis changing) but we stil lhave books we try to balance and in certain years we actually come out net positive in the balance sheet (without cooking the books mind you).
Why won't you love us?

I am ever so glad you asked.
He will play RCB next to Jacob Maguire, in what will no doubt be a flexible stopper and cover combination.
We're one quality defensive midfielder away from having a very good starting XI.
In terms of squad depth and development City are still comfortably ahead. Still think they'll get one of Grealish or Kane too. But we'd compare favourably with the rest of the league.

Madrid existed before Perez and will continue to exist after him. I simply dislike your president and the way he conducts business. I dislike how he treats black players. I dislike how he treats players in general.
I don't have any infatuation with lesser Madrid and Barca either.
