By Laboured Go To PostHe's played well there under TT no? (Inside forward tho)
Not really. If he is as a winger on the formation sheet, it's usually with a 3 man back line and some very offensive full backs, who plays wide, so he can still fuck around and be in more of a CAM role.
see the tremendously high iq take of "they're not real england fans!!" being wheeled out already in response to the racism on social media
as if that means anything at fucking all
seriously, if you can help me understand what point they're trying to make here... tell me

So England tonight then.
Saw something the other day that noted Rashford was the most racially abused sportsman on social media this past year other than LeBron James.

feels like he is still fucking around on the wing all the time with england for whatever reason. i assume because he is told so, cause he seemed well pleased with his performance.

Seems like England do a lot of prep / strategic training about the defensive and attacking thirds, but very little on the middle third (with the ball).
Man, I really have been out of the football loop. I honestly had no idea Sancho was English.
Congrats to fellow Italy fans, commiserations to the rest. Euro is like the EL of international football anyway. You'll get over it in a day or three.

In Mexican culture, "El Sancho" is what you call the man who fucks your wife while you are away, so Zabo being a man of the world and a man of culture might've assumed that's where Juan Sancho hailed from originally.

Just seen there's a whole sub-culture of United "fans" that think Shaw not winning is proof that Mou was right. The internet is a very dark and unpleasant place.
as a fat lad myself, i do like shaw, but i also do respect mou's fat shaming.
anyway can we talk about eder's performance tonight? the way he carried the trophy was actual magic. both before the match and after.

Genuinely looked more scared than any penalty taker. But he saw it through #Bless

Yeah. I saw it in the theaters, but I don't remember anything about it. Other than Gyllenhall's dumb haircut and the opening scene.

Think he will love Pellegrini. Mkhitaryan and Smalling though lol. The American will also be kicked out quickly I am sure.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostStop watching when Juve is shite, huh? It's a valid theory, you loveable cunt, but then how do you explain my burning passion during the Farsopoli years, when we were losing to the likes of FC Spezia? Although technically we did win the Serie B scudetto that year, so maybe ... #gloryhunter

Reading inky's post I actually had to check if his name is indeed Juan. Unfortunatly not, but I can still make him a honorary Mexicano.

Preparations for Roma’s new campaign are underway with The Special One making his first official press-conference appearance later today. The team will soon begin group training. This time around there will be two separate lists for each squad. The first one will include players that fit Mourinho’s project and on whom he counts on with the exception of Bryan Cristante who will be back after a short vacation following the Euros.
According to Il Romanista, the big surprise will be Pedro’s absence on this first list. Roma are reportedly looking to move the Spaniard which explains his presence on the second squad list: the one that includes players that do not fit Mourinho’s project. The likes of Nzonzi, Bianda, Coric as well as possibly Fazio, Santon and Pastore will train separately with personal trainers, without Mourinho’s supervision.
Why was Sancho selected to take a penalty? I dont get it.
Are Henderson and Walker bad penalty takers? One would think they have the experience over someone like Sancho.
Why not Sterling before Sancho or Rashford or even Saka?

I definitely wouldn't trust Henderson with a penalty, let alone one in a final
Expect we'll find out why Saka took one, perhaps via a leak. Sancho was obviously supposed to take one from the start, which never really looked like it wouldn't backfire with the way he approached it.
Always said we should have had Dier in the squad.

The order was obviously decided in training. Kane makes sense first, Maguire second probably means they are taking it "best to worst" among the ones with the best record in training. A lot of people think the 5th is usually the key pen, that's why cunts like Penaldo selfishly take it, but in fact the most important pen is the first, then the second, etc. Sometimes there's a chance you might not even make it to your 5th pen taker. When something like that happens, same fingers are pointed at the manager for allowing your best player to go last.
But of course, an experienced manager could understand that if it does go to 5 pens (likely), you probably still want an experienced player, due to the mental aspect of the game.
Sterling doesn't have a great pen record, neither does Henderson. Apparently Grealish doesn't trust himself enough either. Sancho is experienced enough and a good taker, the problem wasn't that he shouldn't over more senior players, the problem is that if you don't trust him to play during the tournament, it's pretty damn irresponsible management to just throw him in cold during the final minute and ask him to win the trophy with a kick.
All of this is hindsight of course, maybe if Saka takes third and Rashford 5th it feels different. Maybe if Maguire is moved to 5th the other 3 miss and he doesn't get a chance, the complaints go there instead. Italy also missed two, experienced players included, one of which is known for being a specialist PK taker.
The game was lost during regular time. And before that even with Southgate's fearful management and inability to take advantage of the riches in attacking talent he has.

Sancho was clearly intended to be a penalty taker. Henderson should be a good pen taker but I guess he wasn’t on the list.
I can’t add anything that hasn’t already been said about Southgate’s dubious decisions. I just rest comfortably feeling that Italy were deserved winners.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is how easily we kept going down even after it was obvious the ref wasn't giving soft free kicks.
That's the kind of thing you can sort out before the match based on a referee's reputation, never mind still trying to do it in after 120 minutes.

Keeping Mount on for that long while Grealish, Bellingham and Sancho rode the bench.

The crazy thing is that Italy won it by at some point playing with Bernardeschi, Belotti and Berardi up front.
If you would've told me in like 2014 ... sure, that's Italy's future. One year ago I would've started laughing hysterically.
Mancio, what a legend.

I'm just glad Mount is getting a rest now. He's had a fantastic season but he's clearly shot physically.
He should have been taken off earlier last night as well, it was clear that he wasn't having the desired effect, whether it be by design or just a poor match.
This will sound wanky, but I'm at least glad we didn't disgrace ourselves. We lost to a better team on penalties.
My fear going in was that we would be beaten with barely a look in. Or crushed.

Reckon our youth development has been sorted to the extent that we'll win a tournament at some point, would have been special to win it at Wembley though.

Yep. I have just got this attitude with pens now that it doesn’t really count or matter haha. Thought this with United in the EL final - if we had won on pens, would it have made the performance any less disappointing? Absolutely not; it would have just been a lucky end to a dogshit match.
As it is, we lost a final on pens. I can accept that. It happens. Could have done more in the game, of course, but we were up against a vastly more experienced side with a vastly more experienced manager. I’m absolutely fine with the result and the performances over the course of the tournament.
Missed opportunity? Definitely. But we had the youngest average squad in the tournament, and they’ll be here again.
Woke up and I'm not even that bothered that we lost, I just still feel really bad for Rashford, Sancho and Saka.

I thought England looked good but knew they would suffer on penalties, always seemed like Italy had the upper on England if it were to go to penalties. There was a stretch in the second ET where I thought England should have risked it and went for it, Italy were on the ropes.
