Is Gordon even as good as Blake Griifin right now?
Now that I think about it, Sixers signing Wall for dirt cheap might make them more open to taking one of the Warriors young bigs + Wiggins in an offer.

By blackace Go To PostnawFree agents are not lining up to go to Denver or to resign (see Grant).
Reality is the team most likely needs to overpay and has done in the past few years if they think the player is important for the team
(Millsap, Barton), other option is to let Gordon walk and you are back to trying to trade(giving up more assets) for another guy that can fit the core 3( no many options out there).
The team did fuck up with the player option though..
Watching a Marcus Smart defensive video, and he overplays the weak hand and doesn't drop, all my life I was told to push then slide your feet and if they cross you drop (open up). Smart just sits on the dominant hand and backs up and attacks when they cross to the other hand. It's the first minute or so and got me rethinking how to defend, cause he attacks the ball handler.
damn. I watched that whole video lol. good stuff
I think the first half is great example of how to play mind games and make traps/reads for ballhandlers within a team defense setting. that type of thing never gets brought up enough even in the film rooms in college because focus falls on scheme and individual checkbox type evaluations of defense. forcing guys into help by taking options off the table is a big deal but also crazy underappreciated. he's fortunate that coaches reenforced that with him early. Also - I got that same lesson of breaking like a DB instead of opening my hips. Guys are too fucking fast and it's an easy way to get blindsided by a midcourt screen too.
But it's interesting seeing a guy talk about how he treats defense like offense at that level.
That stuff at the end was dope though. I've never once thought to hold the screeners leg to interrupt the roll and throw off timing 😂

Did Grant really leave because he was enamored by Detroit night life or did he just want to take 25 shots a night? I don't think it was an anti-Denver thing.

I don't think it was an anti-Denver thing.I am extremely over simplifying but the gist is he wanted to be a star on a team in a black city while playing for a black coach. This article goes into a great deal of detail behind his thinking. https://theathletic.com/2297656/2021/01/06/jerami-grant-detroit-pistons-denver-nuggets-nba-basketball-free-agent?source=user-shared-article

...maybe. He's got a non-guaranteed on the Blazers for training camp as on now, but he's got some pretty tough competition for that roster spot.

By unknown Go To Postwhy would they trade kyrie, kd wouldn't want that? also stop hatin' on kyrie peeps.while the nba isn't mandating the vaccine, wasn't there something about how teams that play in cities with mandates will have to abide by those mandates?
So if NYC has a mask mandate and Kyrie isn't vaccinated, he can't play in home games. He was gonna miss 41 games with injury anyway so idk what the issue is, but i remember reading something about that.

I been looking high and low for defensive stuff to watch and found this channel that has breakdowns of pretty much everyone, it's a goldmine.
