Protect his value... fucking hell. If we don't manage to sell him this season, then his value is 0. His actual value is -£5m or whatever much his last year wages amount to.

By Cleff Go To PostI see we're now missing out on key targets.
Classic.
Idk how a 30 yo back up is a key target:
A new right back has been mooted for months in the press and Trippier identified as that player. Think we would have made a bid last January but he was banned. Just another in a long line of failures.

I mean, what would you rather?
-Pay £20+m for a back up RB who has 1 year left on his contract; or
-Not pay that because it's a silly fucking price and he's not the only good RB around.
To me it seems like the sort of transfer that eeks out over the course of a window because he only has 1 year left on his contract plus his family has already moved back to Manchester. It's not a key transfer nor is it one that needs to move quickly either.
A new RB is a key target as AWB has essentially started every game of consequence for the last two years. We don't have anyone good enough to sub in for him when be needs resting. We're extremely lucky he hasn't picked up an injury.
I suppose the RB situation is a snapshot of the bigger problems facing the squad. I'm sick of looking at the team and being able to pick half a dozen positions where there's no quality back up.
It could just be a negotiating stance, but I won't give the benefit of the doing to the Glazers or Woodward. They've fucked up too often for that.

The crowd noise in the intro of the track is in fact Brøndby fans recorded by Ian Broudie at Anfield during a UEFA Cup tie in October 1995.
Woodward trying to FM Dortmund. He has to go to Dortmund and watch a couple of games in person though.

Rojo is gone, Jones can't be relied upon to stay fit and Bailly isn't much better.
