Lads, it’s probably not coming home.

By n8 dogg Go To PostEngland have only won one knockout tie in European Championship historyWhere did we play that match?
lol
Exactly.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostEverytime we have lost in the quarter finals, it always went to penalties.Slabhead to miss one vs Olsen.

Is he any good?
I’ll post again just so I look like n8stradamus later
By n8 dogg Go To PostPickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Henderson, Rice, Shaw; Saka (or Mount if fit), Kane, Sterling
I think he is going to stick with the back 4:
Pickford, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Rice, Phillips, Mount, Foden, Sterling, Kane
Basically, Croatia team with Shaw & Maguire instead of Trippier & Mings

What’s good is that if Gosens is out and Germany go back four, Walker can just shift over and Shaw back. Maybe he plays James instead of Trippier as auxiliary winger… dunno.
Before the first match, Southgate said he knew 10 out of the 11 he was going to play. I believe that only doubt was whether to have Trippier help Mings or stick with Shaw. Now that Mags is back, that's not even a question anymore. Gareth stuck with the same team during the world cup (outside of the Belgium match) and I don't see him wanting to switch formation. He switched up the wingers for the Czechs since we had already qualified, and they both did well. I think he won't start Saka for the same reason he won't start Jude (experience), and Grealish might get a shout if Mount is not ready.
By Linius Go To PostSucks that England is the early kickoff. That’s during my commute.Likewise. I'm disappointed I won't get to hear them boo the German anthem or their own team kneeling.

By sohois Go To PostExperience doesn't seem to be an issue for FodogFoden is 21, Saka and Jude are still teenagers
By Plasma Go To PostIf this is the level of players you are getting, good luck in the Championship in 22/23.
Is he any good?
By FortuneFaded Go To PostFoden is 21, Saka and Jude are still teenagersBoth Bellingham and Saka have played more first team minutes for their clubs than Foden - although Foden does have more England caps. I'd say they're all at the same level as far as experience goes
n8stradamus
Got a meeting til 4:30 and a 25 min drive home. Running this shit tight.

Would love to see Saka start, he's deserved it. But I think Big Gaz will go with Shaw and Trippier as wing-backs.
Southgate continously picks the wrong team, don't expect that to change today.
Despite having some of the best attacking talent in the world to choose from he'll pick a formation that only gets a few of them on the pitch.
He'll also play two defensive midfielders in Rice and Phillips which will create a disjointed team between the attack and defence.
Even tho England have great attacking fullbacks he'll tell them to be defensive and barely cross the halfway line.
He'll start some combination of Foden, Mount and Sterling on the wings even tho England have better players for that position.
Football's coming home.
