Yeah I mean none of them were good but Pickford seems close to dropping a match-losing clanger at least once a game. And he's no good at basic shot stopping which is essentially not even having the baseline skills of an international keeper.

I didn’t see the game so can’t speak to it. But I think aside from the obvious mistakes Pickford has made over the last couple of years, the real problem has been the Everton defence’s clear lack of confidence in him (understandably so). You can tell they don’t trust him and it makes them in turn make mistakes. To be fair, I don’t think that was the case with Pickford at the last WC, but the players he played with tonight will have watched him play and I wouldn’t be surprised if they thought the exact same.
All goalkeepers make big mistakes... like every other player on the pitch. Every single one of them gets far too much shit in comparison to other players for it.
Dunno why but the first thing that comes to mind is that Gascoigne miss against Germany. Terrible. Everybody sympathizes with him. A goalkeeper makes the equivalent mistake? He's gonna get crucified by fans and media. It's pathetic.

Yeah again I didn’t see the game tonight. And I said that hasn’t been the case for England. But it’s undeniably been the case at Everton at times. Good defences are built on trust and confidence and there have been periods where the Everton team clearly didn’t want him to have the ball, didn’t want him to claim corners etc.
