I was really surprised that Blazers-Nuggets game wasn’t more competitive. Only caught the second half but the box score doesn’t really show how lopsided it was. Should have been a blowout. Dame had anything he wanted the entire time, was turning down and-1s for wide open 3s because the Nuggets couldn’t close out for anything
By diehard Go To PostNo tech for this? NBA refs slippin
too fucking small indeed
By jjasper Go To PostI agree with this. It being successful is going to push Silver to do his mid season tournament only hang up is probably figuring out the rewards for winning so that it makes sense
And now
By Branduil Go To PostKing shit
Why is Mike like this
By Nobility Go To PostSixers gonna do something to stop this run?Lol no
That would require Doc to adjust
We off that shit

I’ve made peace that playing the lakers this early is the equivalent of when the final boss shows up early in a game and kills the main characters friend. Hopefully the learning experience will lead to championships down the line after CP3 is killed by his bff
By jjasper Go To PostAnd nowI really don’t see the point of this.
I can’t imagine anyone takes it serious and risks injury for a midseason tournament. You can be a 6x midseason champ but it’s still not gonna make you MJ. It’s just gonna be useless like all-star weekend, and in fact even worse because the teams that don’t qualify for this tournament get rest while the NBA is gonna expect the top teams to ruin their chance at a ring just for some extra sponsor money.
This team are such frauds
We are built off of Biid getting all the calls and mediocre spot up shooters.
I am so butthurt lol

By aka Espi Go To PostI really don’t see the point of this. The NBA also shouldn't be adding in more games. They worked hard to reduce the number of back-to-backs and extend the length of the season because it's been proven to reduce injury.

This condensed season plus + the late bubble last year is the biggest reason why there have been so many devastating injuries.
I still don't understand what the incentive is for anybody to actually try and win a mid-season tournament. There's nothing at stake and the money is pretty paltry for any of the good players to care about.
The article mentions that the number regular season games would be diminished but I guess some of those would then be part of the tournament. The problem is the play in is an easier thing to sell to teams, owners, players, and fans. The midseason tournament is not. Coming up with a reward that could make everyone want to compete and make it worth the players (both stars and rotation level players) and teams is almost impossible
Exactly. Give out a million like the article mentions a and sure rotation players and below will be excited but stars won’t care. Give the winning team a draft reward like it was mentioned over the winter and then stars that think they are one player away might care but you are asking everyone else to try and win and increase their teams chance at getting their replacement.

A mid season tournament for football (soccer) makes sense because it allows (usually) the best teams from different leagues to compete against each other.
It makes no sense for the NBA because every team already plays each other 2-4 times a season.

Adam Silver: Hey I know you make 40 million a season but wouldn’t you jump at the opportunity to make another million?

The NBA would need an agreement with the National Basketball Players Association and a two-thirds majority of its 30 teams to incorporate an in-season tournament plan. The league could start exploring the idea again with teams and the NBPA as soon as this year, sources said.
I don’t see how the NBPA agrees to this unless Phoenix wins the championship this year and Chris Paul just wants to be petty.
By knux-future Go To PostLuckily YNB shooting bricks rn.It's surprising that this is a game considering how badly he's playing.
By reilo Go To PostEmbiid has 11FTA in 22 minutesTbf they have been legit fouls today and not the gimmicky shit normally but yeah I hate it because they aren’t going to keep calling those
