This is sports/hollywood/entertainment. A person in a prominent spot will do whatever they can to hold on to that spot for as long as possible. Even the people you consider to by allies will not willingly give up their role because of perceived pressure to meet quotas or pressure from the public. This is literally the first time I'm hearing about an "online" movement to get her as a sideline reporter. Just this past week I heard about her getting a diminished offer and Jalen Rose(?) publicly saying she deserved more pay. Based on what I'm aware of, there have been a lot of anchors and personalities at ESPN leaving recently due to Disney being tight with their wallet. That includes white people of great familiarity. So the story about her asking for a lot of money and ESPN countering with lower did not surprise.
Rachel isn't the first and won't be the last to say such things behind closed doors. if someone leaked tape of some of the NFL on Fox people saying this you shouldn't be surprised.
