Play-In Tournament is stupid. Instead of added excitement, it just brought added shenanigans and tomfoolery.

By diehard Go To PostI mean I'm pretty interested in the play-in games..The games are interesting now, but getting to them was pretty dumb. Coward Clips and all.
By jar155 Go To PostPlay-In Tournament is stupid. Instead of added excitement, it just brought added shenanigans and tomfoolery. It didn't change anything in the obvious tanking that went on in the WC. Teams would still be maneuvering to avoid the Lakers in the first round.

By Kibner Go To PostIt didn't change anything in the obvious tanking that went on in the WC. Teams would still be maneuvering to avoid the Lakers in the first round.I'm still laughing that the Nuggets tanked against the Blazer to make sure they played the Blazers in the first round.
I wonder if in the future there will thresholds, like if a team is 5+ games under .500 they aren't eligible. Imagine the Pacers fluke their way into a playoff spot and miss out on a potential lottery pick because of fuckery.
I'm actually not totally opposed to the draft style. #1 seed picks from seeds 2-8 who they want to play and so on.
Makes the regular season more important and adds another story-line about teams getting disrespected.

The play in tournament is one of the best ideas the league has had in years. If the Lakers were sitting in 7th or 8th late in the season with the old format their would be just as much fuckery.
By reilo Go To PostI can imagine the made-up incentives the lower seeds would use to try and shit on the higher seedsI would also love the #1 seed that picks an overpowered #8 to "make a statement" and they get beat in round one.

By jar155 Go To PostI would also love the #1 seed that picks an overpowered #8 to "make a statement" and they get beat in round one.I imagine a top seed will only be allowed to pick from the bottom 4 seeds, and in that scenario, who would the Jazz rather want to risk pissing off by saying "yea we can beat you easily"?
5. Mavericks with Luka
6. Blazers with Dame
7. Lakers with Lebron
8. Warriors with Steph

No disrespect to the Mavs.
By diehard Go To PostJazz would take the Mavs, easily. And risk White Harden shooting 15FTA/gm? Brave
No disrespect to the Mavs.
By post-sy Go To PostHornets made it? LmaoIts bullshit. I know
Pels had a better net rating against top ten teams than the middle ten teams. I hate that kind of complacency.
By Kibner Go To PostIt didn't change anything in the obvious tanking that went on in the WC. Teams would still be maneuvering to avoid the Lakers in the first round.Don't agree
A lot of teams went harder longer to avoid the play in altogether.

Better. Cricket is trash. You don’t play sport in trousers and a wool vest for fucks sake

I do think Wizards would make it super hard for Nets. Pace at PG/SG has been difficult for them all season. Sexton trashed them ffs.
Nets in 6. Then lose to Bucks in 6 in the SFs.
