By Perfect Blue Go To PostSorry, maybe I'm not being clear enough. My point is it isn't necessarily the money they are envious of but having a good owner who genuinely seems to like the club and wants it to succeed. Abramovich is deeply involved at all levels of the club (for better or for worse…) and in the age of disinterested billionaires using football clubs as vehicles of profit, I think his approach is genuinely refreshing.Yes, until your owner is Aurelio De Laurentiis, and he makes you want to Oedipus your eyes.
The fake Frenchs lol.. I dont like france using Senegal algeria borned to play in france Just my opnion.. england dont use this.. GOOD night germany used podorsky klose poland guys ozil turkey. But fifa accept..
By rerixo Go To Posti was just fucking about, i shouldn't have said that
but………
watch the bit 20s in and tell me it doesnt sound familiar
afaik the city lads here were fans before the sheikh came in, and although we enjoy the success, i'm pretty sure we all resent that our passion and fandom is tied to such a deeply unethical regime. but like what can we do..
Holy shit that woman Abby Martin was a close friend of mine in college. Used to live on my floor in the dorm at San Diego State, and we hung out all the time. Small fucking world, man.
The most egregious thing about Man City is that there is no price for failure. They will never suffer any consequences for bad decisions beyond a single season. Case in point: coronavirus. Pretty much every other team had to severaly rein in spending and will probably continue to do so next season, while City just carried on blowing hundreds of millions as they always do.
It won't ever matter to City if a big signing flops, or if they slip out of the CL, or an economic disaster strikes.

By rerixo Go To Postif the most egregious thing about city is something that also applies to united and chelsea then that's pretty good tbhUnited and Chelsea aren't state-sanctioned. C'mon United are being bled dry ffs.
City have a ridiculously expensive squad, and it allows them to rotate at will with very little consequence. Add in the week off at Christmas and they are simply more well rested than anyone else.
Ole runs the same 11 into the ground most of the year.

By rerixo Go To Postif the most egregious thing about city is something that also applies to united and chelsea then that's pretty good tbhUnited spent less than half what City did last summer. Chelsea are also financially doped up, but at least they have the excuse that they sold Hazard and spent very little the previous year
#solidarity with the supporters of Championship or lower sides repeatedly watching the City, United, Chelsea, and Liverpool lads squabble about who spends the most, whether its sensible, fair, and/or deserved, etc.

This is true, but we currently have a reserve side of DDG (20m and on 350k a week) Bailly (30m), Telles (15m), Matic (40m) vdB (35m), Mata (40m) and Amad (40m).
Obviously City have GOOD reserves is the difference, but we’ve still spent money.
By Cleff Go To PostBecause of course criticising for murdering children equates to anti-Semitism.If the club had any decency we'd cut ties with them, no doubt all we'll end up doing is leave Elneny out of the squad like we did with Ozil.

So please you lot should be the last to complain about Man City’s spending

Imagine every football argument turned to "you spend more". No team will have ever earned the right to celebrate anything ever.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostThey spent more than Middlesborough m8 and got bought by a rich Thai guy

I get what the argument is and I agree with it - our money is self-sustained comparatively to City’s so their success is always going to be tinged with apathy - but we’ve also been one of the gatekeepers and originators of big club hegemony so our moral superiority is much fucking smaller than it should be.
Sohois' earlier point isn't about spending so much ass it was about literally having infinite reserves to render any outcome inconsequential.
Its not that City can't lose - its that they straight up can't fail.

Failure is relative
Arsenal fans are saying FA cup don’t matter while I wish if my club won it his once this century
No one bats an eyelid when City were win League cup every and you bet, if they didn’t win the league, it would have been a disaster season for City

There’s no visible and obvious line we can draw where on one side you’ve ‘earned’ your success on the other side you haven’t. What I can say is that it’s telling how ignorable City are despite them being the dominant force in English football, and that should indicate a sense of how people feel about their success.

Ibrahimovic potentially out of the Euros.
Euros are going to be shite I think. Funny that it and the Olympics are still using "2020"

The majority of them were bought 4-9 years ago as first choice team players & are now either too old or injured & are only still there because United can't afford to replace them unlike City do every year.
Obviously City have GOOD reserves is the difference, but we’ve still spent money.
Buying Mata 7 years ago for 40m is not the same as City buying Torres, Angeliño, Mahrez, Silva, Sané, Nolito, Sterling, Roberts & Navas during the same time for almost 300m. Navas was eventually released on a free, Roberts/Angeliño don't even play they're continually shoved out on loan & Nolito + Sané were sold for less than 50m leaving a net spent of just under 250m.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostBasically what I was saying earlier today(yesterday for you)Again the issue is not that one team has spent a bit more money which is how football's always been, the issue is there's now a team that's spent so much money their reserve XI costs more than the first XI of 17 of the 19 teams they compete with. This is not the case with any of the other top teams in the major leagues, PSG, Barca, Juventus or Bayern haven't done the same.
Imagine every football argument turned to "you spend more". No team will have ever earned the right to celebrate anything ever.
You should all read Champagne Football: John Delaney and the Betrayal of Irish Football: The Inside Story. I'm going through it now and it's wild how much shit he was at.
For what it's worth, money clearly only buys titles to a certain extent. City spent a ridiculous amount of money over the course of 2 decades but it's not like they just walked their way to the title. It's also quite easy to overspend on talent that doesn't ever quite work out, player value is all relative too. I agree there is certainly an issue with the sheer financial disparity between city and others, but you can't deny the difficulty of the accomplishment of winning titles. Am I supposed to feel less pride in my club because we happen to have a long history of success which has made us financially stronger than our league rivals?
Less rich teams winning things as underdogs is romantic, but that doesn't take away from the accomplishments of wealthy clubs. City needed a top tier manager and years of development to create a team that can challenge this strongly and they still fail almost every year for something or another.

Oh yeah? Did they really need years and years to start challenging for titles with top tier managers?
Nice play by Sane. Makes up for tripping over his own feet earlier.

Lmao.
Yes Schlacke.
Werder on the relegation spot. Damn the second league will have more traditional bundesliga clubs than the 1st league if that goes on.
