It was very close. Odoi was well ahead of the City defender, but the ball was almost on line with him

City will have 8 different players starting than in this one
By Dan Go To PostOk I’m done.
We’ve been robbed by ourselves and by VAR.
Blame Sergio and no one else
By inky Go To PostSo whoever wins today loses the final? Is that how it works? It has been decided then
Chelsea have a real chance at winning the El Plastico CL final.
And as much as I despise both teams, I’d rather Chelsea win it, because when it’s between them and City, they’re the lesser of two evils.

also already won it once before innit. doesn't really feel as much as history being written, as citeh winning it.
No Bernardo, no Foden, no Gundo & Zinchenko (until late on), no Mahrez, no KDB, no Stones
very different team today than what you’d expect in the final. Not too much to read into IMO.

By Xpike Go To Postseems any decent team can put up a fight at the emptihadtoo on the nose that they have a giant “WE’RE NOT REALLY HERE” plastered in the stands
Chelsea have the team to beat City.
They play against that press and those gaps on the sides are there to exploit.
Really like Gilmore. Tidy player

The meaning of that chant is lost on the vast majority.
Felt like a Carabao cup game with players rested and the CL final on everyones minds. Still a great 3 points though and I didnt really fancy watching City get declared PL champions today.
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostyouNice. We won our derby last year with a panenka. It was glorious.
vs the guy she tells you not to worry about
Should've been one today but the protests in Colombia screwed up Emelec's midweek travel.
By bone Go To Post“WE’RE NOT REALLY HERE”
When are they ever there? What does that even mean anyway.
Well like most football chants there are multiple stories about how and when it was born with the most popular being;
- a self ironic chant born when we were floundering at the depths of English football
- City fans travelled to a Luton away game to find that away fans were banned from entering the ground
- similar thing with Millwall away but some City fans snuck in and started the chant
But it’s always been something I remember being sung even when I was going with my dad to Maine Road back in’t day.
I think a lot of City fans who have seen the club go from League 2 to winning titles most seasons will still sing it with a wry smile and a sense of irony.
@Penny and @Milch have you read this? https://theathletic.com/2571703/2021/05/08/the-transfers-sackings-and-consistent-wrong-turns-behind-schalkes-sad-implosion/
