all I know is I want to go to Super Nintendo World 😍
Congratulations and everything.
First when are you thinking about going?
I ask for two reasons. 1 is seasons play a huge role in what traditional activities are available and 2 is Japan is so far behind in this covid thing that getting in might be tough until fall/winter.
If you are thinking about the Tokyo area I would suggest making a trip to Kamakura, and Hakone.
Of course there is Akihabara and Shibuya for your geek needs.

By pulga Go To Postall I know is I want to go to Super Nintendo World 😍That's in Osaka and there's plenty to see in that area. Dotonbori is the classic tourist street. The aquarium in Osaka is beautiful and Osaka Castle is absolutely worth a nice romantic walk around the grounds (it's free). Nara, Kyoto, and Kobe are all near and those places have specific things too - particularly Kyoto. Nintendo's head quarters are in Kyoto so maybe you can sneak inside lol.
Out of the way places are the Izu peninsula that I liked a lot, Hakone and Odawara you can do in one trip together, Kawagoe is a nice day trip, Kawasaki too, Yokosuka, Yokohama, etc. There is too much to see.
