Gonna need a massive game from Allen Robinson and Ivory to come back. Cloudy got a Asiata-like under 80- yard 3 TD game from DWill in his last start before Bell comes back.
By Gabyskra Go To PostYeah, well looks like I lost big time. Ugh.I dunno you have alot of guys in high-scoring games left. I kinda ignore the projections and look at the talent left, if those games turn into bigtime shootouts you have an opportunity to come back. Unlike me, Robinson and Ivory have to score like 30 apiece. :(
By cloudy Go To PostSmith just missed a TD stepping out of bounds at the end. Hopefully Ivory is kept in checkAs it stands now I need 22 points from Ivory... 100 yards 2 TDs or a Matt Asiata special, funny thing is Indy Run D is so bad it's legit possible... highly unlikely but possible :\.
By diehard Go To Postdrafting Jimmy Graham was a mistakeMaybe, but he should improve as the offense gets in sync.
I have San Francisco as my only defense. They gave me -4.00 and I just don't trust them. Do you guys think that I should I try to grab the titans Def off of waivers or hold onto my spot at 4 and see if they go unclaimed?

Usually is the best option to go.
By The Frankman Go To PostSome people aren't used to FAAB/overrating value a bit IMHO. Plenty of articles and Fantasy advice columns on proper value and bid percentages for players out there.
$22 for Hillman? $9 for Dunbar?
I think 14ish is about what Hillman is worth, but i kicked in an extra 8 bucks just to make sure I got him. Everyone was all over CJ Anderson's knob during the off-season fantasy-wise but really, what has he done? He didn't look that great in preseason and everything i saw in my head pointed to "timeshare" plus Hillman is the better pass catcher of the two. Everything about the situation screamed "This is going to be a platoon by week 4" and with how CJ has looked, Hillman might end up becoming the lead back. Of course, the Denver rungame proceeded to do jack dick the last two weeks but it at LEAST looks like a 50-50 timeshare. 22 bucks is a small price to pay for a back in a 50-50 split I think.

If I pay 22 bucks I better get a guy who's close to being a starter. Hillman will never be one due to his size though. There are plenty of backs in a split that get around those touches Hillman will get though.
Keeping me guessing, Frank. What about those empty 2 spots? Are you undecided? You have a strong start.

EDIT: Gonna roll with a nicked up Ivory and Nate Washington. Risky but eh.

I don't know if you can approach fantasy FAAB with that kind of value shopper mindset. RBs off the WW who turn into useful starters (guys in the RB15-25 range) don't come along but a handful of times during a fantasy season. I think such a player would be worth a big chunk of your FAAB.
I don't really think Hillman is going to be an impact starter, but a guy who might get 55% of the touches going forward. If there were an 'impact' back to emerge on waivers who was going to get most or all of the touches in a backfield going forward, i would think that type of player would be worth 50 or more dollars.

also please Jamaal Charles drop your usual 15-18 Fantasy points on GB ok thanks.

I don't know what to think about the game tbh. I mean, GB should win, and Lacy being out reinforces the chances they rely on Rodgers and Cobb, so... I should be okay. But I still have a lot of points to score to catch up.
Nickel corner getting hurt for KC killed me. Cobb was real quiet before he got hurt. Rodgers just picking on Tyron Branch on Cobb.
Ironically, looks like I could end up with the most points out of the non-playoffs team. I'm 2nd in points total but ranked 8th and highly dependent on GB having a good game. Hopefully nickel corners keep getting hurt.
That's an unbelievable amount. Not even the McCoy owner. I hope everyone isn't tired of rejecting all my trade offers yet. I wheel and deal.
Bail Kings is desperate as fuck and he's pretty much going all in with Karlos Williams I get, but blowing almost a seasons' worth of FAAB money on a guy who will be a RB2 at best most weeks is astounding. When you make a move like that you're sure a) the rest of your team is set b) You are confident you can make any trade at any time. I'm not so sure about the former and the latter is impossible to predict.
Just to respond to cloudy's post... it's not just weekly. It's also season long. It was in the League Rules since I started the league and it's in both OPs from here and the other forum.
I think Crazymoogle made the right move going all-in on Karlos. Clearly he needed to or he wouldn't have got him.
Anyone want to offer me something for Martavis Bryant? I know the Big Ben injury dampens his outlook but he's still a very capable receiver. (Although I suppose it remains to be seen whether Vick is still a capable quarterback.)
He averaged 10.41 FPs/game in this scoring format last season. The only wide receivers that did better were...
- Odell Beckham Jr. - 17.56
- Antonio Brown - 16.91
- Jordy Nelson - 14.37
- Demaryius Thomas - 14.37
- Dez Bryant - 14.25
- Randall Cobb - 13.01
- Julio Jones - 12.96
- Emmanuel Sanders - 12.69
- Jeremy Maclin - 12.04
- Calvin Johnson - 11.98
- T.Y. Hilton - 11.83
- Mike Evans - 11.81
- Alshon Jeffery - 11.04
- A.J. Green - 10.64
- Julian Edelman - 10.47
So he was WR16 on a PPG basis. Just floating for offers. I will run my team without a kicker this week if I need to so don't go assuming he'll be FAAB bait if Foster sits.

They're kinda crazy offers tbh. You offer a tier 3 TE for a tier 1 TE, etc.
Calling Dwayne Allen a Tier 3 TE is an insult to Tier 3 TEs.
Minx is enjoying the same pain I'm suffering through in the Shirtless league right now with a picked clean Tight End market.

No Shady McCoy until Week 9? Seems like Crazymoogle was right to blow his load on Karlos.
He could be back up to a 4-3 record by then.

updated my trade if anyone is interested.
Next year I'm putting in that you can trade FAAB dollars. I imagine that'll have some value.

This is a helpful history guide called The Ubertag Doctrine that outlines your chances of cashing based on record CBS Fantasy Sportsline gives trade advice on the same subject. Here is another piece they did last week. Keep in mind usually there is one (maybe two) 6-7 team that makes the playoffs, so that is a floor point to reach.
- Remember to follow FF news sites like RotoWorld and ESPN Fantasy Football for up-to-date NFL players news. Even Yahoo has some very nice pieces.
- A little in-depth research goes a long way. Footballguys.com has some free articles that'll give a leg up on seeing if a player is worth picking up/buying low/selling high/etc.
- Those who don't know, ask. Plenty of sites offer free fantasy football advice, heck GoogleSearch it!
Most important... set your lineups prior to lock. Nothing worse than losing a week due to you oversleeping and not taking out a player on Bye. You paid good money, might as well play to win.

from chat:
By minxThe 3rd highest scoring RB is available. Doug "no TD" Martin. Boy did a lot of people reject offers on him two weeks ago.Let's not overreact here. He faced a Jaguars team missing their star MLB Posluzny and one of their big DT. I could've scored on the Jaguars last week... he's still dependent on game flow and at any time Charles Sims might take over if they fall behind.
Well if that West buyout does not work out for me, this will be my last week to try and get back in this league.
I still don't get the massive (over)bidding for most of these Waiver RBs... but hey guys need to get players.

To get West I figured I needed to bid $1 more than the Charles owner who I figured would go all out as well. Then looking over rosters there was two other teams that could match that so I went over to meet that. Yup big gamble, but being in last place when West was the 2nd coming was a calculated (failed this week) risk.

Yup big gamble, but being in last place when West was the 2nd coming was a calculated (failed this week) risk.As the Charles owner every publication was screaming at me to pay far more than I normally would, so after evaluating his talent/situation/offense/trust level in system/competition, I decided to pay more than I normally would and bid 50% of my budget. I just didn't like the long-term outlook of him and the fact it's an Alex Smith run offense that most times didn't even get the ball to Charles enough. Charles is a special talent to overcome that restriction, I didn't feel Charcandrick West (as much of a SPARQ freak as he is) suddenly will overcome that soon. Rather than try to get one player to fill Charles' void (almost impossible), get alot of players to improve the other spots.
I'm kinda stunned baldy (Everyone Loves KC's D) didn't break the bank, he's a huge Chiefs fan.
The unknowns with this league is how everyone spends. Being a first timer it is tough to know how some will plop down compared to leagues I have been in over 8 years with the same people. The way players are going down every week this year I expect most people to have empty bank accounts by the end of the year.
Also, did not draft very well for this leagues scoring to start with. I only have myself to blame since I signed up for the league, what 5-6 hours before the draft :) Doing what I can this year and will be better studied next year.

The spending absolutely blew me away because this type of spending didn't exist last year in this league.

I don't know how important spending will be in the end tbh. Last year, I crushed the regular season and I had the most saved up coming into the playoffs... frankman still beat me in the semi.
The quality of the team and pickups still matter though. I think it's mainly having the FAAB ability to fix and patch any perceived holes with your team. Because once the Trade deadline passes improving your team will me extremely hard to do.
