Haters of fair play you are. Yeah, forget that idea then.

Denial, that will help you later in life!
Less than one hour to go. This is going to be the least I ever prepped for a draft since my first one back in 2008. I usually try to do 40-60 mocks, I've done maybe 12 and autopicked half of those.
By Gabyskra Go To Post45 seconds scares me tbhThe mocks give 30 so an extra 15 seconds of Hell.
Well, mocks are meant to be trial and error. This is the stage where it's about succeeding. I mean, it's gonna be okay, my draft was great last year and I tend to validate my pick in 3 seconds, but I know that for round 4 or 5, it will be a headache.
"Your league's Live Online Draft is starting soon!
Your draft is loading now."
...11TH AGAIN!! FUCK! I never have a high draft pick.

Well, that was a shitshow. Drafting corpses and all. If I'm being honest, there really is a balance problem with 2 flex (and a realism problem, since no team fields 4 WRs and 3 RBs at the same time).
I like my team a lot. Only real regret I have is missing out on Charles Johnson.
LOL @ whoever it was that told me Todd Gurley was the biggest mistake of the draft....at pick 73.

It was me, I used a modal as far as I remember, I complimented the Murray and Montgomery picks so you can take it easy and not be offended. My experience with rookie RBs is rarely that they show up mid-season and kick ass (i drafted the Lions rookie RB in another league tho). The RB pool was already fucked when you picked (for which i blame the possibility of fielding 3 RBs), which I recognize and did not anticipate, but I just don't see the Rams offense contributing much. Of course the fact that I don't believe in STL makes my own situation even more frustrating. I remember you criticizing others a lot during the draft, much less often complimenting people. It's fine if it's talking trash in good fun, but that clearly felt more pedantic.
On the subject of yahoo grades, yahoo says my QB situation is under the league average even though I have Aaron Rodgers (it averages its projection with that of my backup, Carr, as if he'd playing half the games). That's a very silly way to anticipate results.
All Yahoo grades are meaningless without data it can use IMHO.
I wanted a system to better reflect the more offensive style the NFL is going to and to give the drafter choices on personnel. Whatever personnel you use, the draft is just the beginning. Making it work is a full-year process involving FAAB, Free Agents, Trades, and playing "the right guy" (aka luck).
EDIT: and yes, Fantasy Football is where tons of shittalk goes on and hubris is pretty much status quo. I once was playing against Puddles and Lance Moore was soaking up tons of targets. He wanted Lance Moore to get fucked by a horse; we all laughed. Nothing is meant too seriously

If I'm being honest, there really is a balance problem with 2 flex (and a realism problem, since no team fields 4 WRs and 3 RBs at the same time).I'm going to ignore the "realism in Fantasy Football" argument for a sec, and examine formations. You can have alot of formations where some of the concepts do exist, though it depends on the teams/personnel. TEs lined up at WR, WRs lined up and TE, 3 RBs in the backfield (one as FB)... even 12, 20, 22 and 23 personnel. Patriots used to routinely run 3 TEs and 2 WR groupings last 2 years with no Gronk. Here's an excellent breakdown of different combos. However, which way you tilt is up to you. Strong RBs usually mean weaker at RB and vice versa. TE or QB early usually compromises WR and RB.

Reflect the NFL? Come on!
That formation does not exist, frankman. You can't have 3 WRs, 3 RBs, 1 TE. Any idea what the o-line would be like with the QB? Count to 11.
You know why that's a problem? Because the league is with 16 players. 3 RBs for 16 players is 48 RBs. There is hardly that many that even get touches every week. Giving a 2nd flex position the option to field a 3rd RB killed the pool.
You were saying you don't want people to quit? It will happen really fast when people don't have a good WR4 or good RB3.
It means we're playing a game of which RB will get a handful of touches... A game that is at some point dead, because all of them are poached. The FAAB bids will suffer from crazy inflation...

Oh, I ain't mad, just amused since that was way out of left field. I mean, I might feel dumb had I drafted him in the 3rd round or something, but I'm not going to feel bad about taking him at what amounts to nearly spot-on his ADP.
Although I'm a little peeved at you turning it back around on me ("I didn't mean to offend, but I remember you criticizing a lot, not complimenting people.") "I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend, but you are a far bigger jerk than me!" haha, ok buddy.
But whatever. Nobody's perfect.

Honestly, does this even matter? We all have to deal with filling the positions equally. We all are going to be drafting scrubs and picking up journey men to fill out positions in a 16-team league. People going to quit if they dont have a good WR4 or RB3? NO ONE IS GOING TO HAVE A GOOD WR4 OR RB3 (unless they overdrafted or got lucky, and that's just a couple of people and they are most certainly going to suffer elsewhere).
Hey Gaby, we had Double Flex last year too. Did anyone quit a bitch about it? No. It's not uncommon to see a double Flex in leagues since basically it's taking two bench spots (default is 6-man bench) and adding 1 extra Flex spot (i think 1 Flex is default). It uses 1 less roster spot than the normal amount a team has... the difference is last year we had 14 teams, this year it's 16.
As far as inflation, sounds like the NBA owners argument about paying tons of money to scrubs.

Double flex is ridiculous and I think you should reconsider it. W/R/T in a 16-team league is just a bit less ridiculous...
Look, i'm happy to be a part of that league, and like last year, i'll do my best even if I feel my draft sucked. The participants are good, and I like that.
But I'll debate a bit, I believe it's a mindset you have, adding some shit was a flashy option and you thought it would make the game more sophisticated (fielding more players, having more teams, etc, always more), but I think it detracts from it.
People apply to leagues because you don't have that many opportunities to join trustworthy paying fantasy leagues with people who are better than colleagues. It does not mean rules should not be discussed, just because they weren't discussed before. The problem is not with the total amount of players on the roster, the issue is: what are we betting on? Is it going to be about stashing players, or is it about getting the right one at the right moment? I argue that among other strategies, enlarging the number of people we field takes away one aspect of fantasy football: matchup analysis. It becomes less important.
Take a situation in which for instance you would have 3 QBs in a fantasy league, for 16 teams. 48 total. Not that many play every week! Why bet when not that many play? Same shit here, we need a pool of 48 RBs or 64 WRs who contribute in real life for everyone to field a whole team. It is getting awfully close to the limit, it's fringe players. Then, someone poaches a few extra, and the fat lady sings.
The argument that "everyone is in the same boat" is silly. Apply it to the end, and get 5 QBs, 10 WRs, etc. Everyone is in the same boat anyway! You've got to fix the limit somewhere. And usually people like their teams to resemble somewhat realistic depth charts, and for their players to actually get a shot. They don't want the story to be "did James Jones get 3 looks instead of Ty Montgomery so I could get a few extra points on my second flex?". They'd rather it be "Roethlisberger played against a crappy secondary, I was right to play him instead of Rivers".
It's okay if we disagree, but there's a reason I always hated leagues with 2 QBs for instance.

I gotta say I love this time of year. It is almost like having the family over at Thanksgiving and talking politics. I just need the turkey!

Don't be passive-aggressive. It's argumentative criticism. As I said, we're free to disagree and ultimately it is your choice if you don't want the rules to be made collectively, but apparently you take it the wrong way. Didn't you mention hubris earlier? And didn't you quote a feel-good story about tough love?
Look i'll make it easier for you, if want to send a refund my way, might as well take it now even if I'd rather play. But you better not kick me out and keep the money.

By The Frankman Go To PostHey Steelers how about you cover Edelman?
Bruh I got Edelman but due to my leagues incompetent GM pushing the draft back to appease every fucking body today won't count....
By Gabyskra Go To PostWho?DeAngelo Williams. He was my 11th pick (172nd overall). Named as the starter for the first 2 weeks a few hours before our draft
I forgot about DWill, but I kinda have an issue about drafting short-term injury replacements.
Ah nothing like the feeling that your Fantasy team for the week is already dead after the Thursday Night game.

$22 for Hillman? $9 for Dunbar?
