But when auckland city plays the stadium only sells 10% of available seats anyway so makes no difference haha
By Lunatic Go To PostThat's cute that batong doesn't know that Americans have already infested Mexico.Oh I know that meant back to a normal crowd infested size
Feels a bit disrespectful towards Lingard that a lot of United fans only see him as a make weight for a potential Rice transfer, but that's the situation we're in now.
I've noticed a lot of Twitter posts criticising Solksjaer for Lingards struggles, but that's looking at things backwards imo. We've seen enough attacking players perform well at United to suggest that OlƩ has an idea of how to get the best out of them. When Bruno, Rashford, Martial and Greenwood were propelling is to the CL spots last season, Lingard was struggling badly and putting in terrible performances. To me that suggests a problem with the player more than the manager.
He's gone to West Ham where he's under less pressure and playing in a system when he gets the free rein he'd never get at United. He's now flourishing and I'm glad for him that he is. We now need to be objective and realise that it's not anyone's fault that for his last 18 months at United he struggled badly. And I hope our board take that same mindset and sells him this summer. We know he can't consistently do this business at United. Sell.him while his stock is high and reinvest elsewhere.

Fuck, 90th minute goal from Moreirense for a 1-1 draw after we had two goals disallowed, one was suspicious and the other was for 2cm.
9 games to go, 8 point lead...

Speaking of selling players, Arsenal have a big decision to make this summer in terms of strikers.
Now obviously, Aubameyang is still our best striker when he's on form, but he hasn't looked comfortable for months and probably shouldn't have signed the new deal. Lacazette is excellent in terms of work-rate and holding up off the ball, but doesn't score enough goals. Nketiah is not good enough and probably should be sold off in the summer.
So that means we have Balogun from the u23s who has been heavily linked with a move away and Martinelli who has only just come back from an injury.
Genuinely a big headache for Arteta and the team. Personally, I think the team looks more settled/cohesive with Laca up front and Auba on the bench/not in the squad tbh. I don't see him as a good captain too.

By Cleff Go To PostNeville and Carragher are unserious football men.
Neville picked Dier (fucking hell) and Greenwood (that picture only shows the players they agreed on).
On Sancho "never been convinced in an England shirt". Tits. If he was playing in the PL he'd be the first forward on that list not named Kane.

giving auba a new contract was arteta's biggest mistake. he's been on a steady decline for a couple of years, his xG trending down with his top speed as expected, it's not just a form thing.

Auba has had a bad season, but letās not forget how good he was before that. I admittedly didnāt watch much football when it resumed last year, so maybe it was more obvious to those who did watch. Club were in a tough position. Extend, risk letting him go for free, or sell him. At the time the latter two options would have seen fans criticise the club, and the former looks bad now with hindsight. I do agree about the captaincy. Just give it to Tierney.
Laca makes us play much better, especially when Saka is playing.
By Meier Go To PostWhy would Inter sell him so quickly? You'd think they'd demand at least 70m for him if they did though.
I agree, but it is Inter. They might need the cash, and they have about a half dozen players who can play fullback.
Donāt see it happening because no way Hakimi would leave a CL team for us.

So who we taking lads
Iād go:
Pope, Henderson, Pickford

Think this is pretty much me, but I'm 50/50 on whether to take Foden over Saka.
I think n8's is much closer to what I expect. I think he forgot Foden though. So Foden over Hey Jude.
By n8 dogg Go To PostNever mind squad players, England have had journeymen as starters in their world cup campaigns. Trevor Sinclair and Mills in '02, Upson in '10, the entire back 4 in '14.

Assuming we could, I'd switch out Bellingham for Ings. Other than though, I think covers most bases.
Of course, you just know Bellingham will be left out - for Dier.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostI think n8's is much closer to what I expect. I think he forgot Foden though. So Foden over Hey Jude.Yeah, Southgate is definitely gonna take 5 fullbacks for no fucking reason. But he'll bring Foden over Ward-Prowse so he never has to divert from his beloved 2 DMs - Bellingham will come but only play 5 minutes in the final group game
Going to be consistent with my "set pieces will be important" thing and say on that basis W-P is a must.
This is also extremely academic as a bunch of these players will be out with injury anyways.

Iād go with 3 RBs because TAA should be starting in a back four, while Walker can start on the right of a 3 and Trippier on the right of a 5 #versatility

Time for the bad/good cop partnership of Nat & Ozan to get their fifth straight clean sheet and show those Madristas how it is done šŖ

Ings got to go imo.
By Willkiller Go To PostAnyone not picking Foden needs to give their head a wobble
Instead of who though? Someone good has to be left out. Maybe Bellingham.
Foden, Mount, and Maddison are all competing for the same spot (and Dele Alli lol) and all are at similar levels. Maddison is a lot more experienced though and plays for a weaker team but still produces just as much. Foden would only be going because of hype
By n8 dogg Go To PostInstead of who though? Someone good has to be left out. Maybe Bellingham.
Someone good does have to be left out I agree, it's a shame but I think you could get away with leaving Bellingham out (or Ward Prowse from your squad).
Controversial I know, but I would hear the argument for taking him over Rashford for this tournament too. Would I have Rashford playing over Sterling, Sancho and Grealish? Not for me. Based on that alone I wouldn't be too upset if we left him and took Foden instead, I think this England team under Gareth is going to struggle to break stronger teams down, I think Foden has a higher chance of making something happen than Rashford once you get out the groups.
