Cadiz fans shouted "CAPITALISTS" when the Madrid bus pulled in, I thought that was hilarious given the circumstance.
Bayern might be a front management drama comedy right now but at least we have really good accountants I guess
By LFMartins86 Go To PostIâm going to die from an heart attack. Another fucking draw but this one almost feels like a win.Holy shit, a 96th minute pelanty. I checked the score at the 93rd and assumed you lost. How many games are left to play?
We are bottling this so hard.

Perez is looking out for the troubled ones. The Rich kind

I stood with Bungie in that argument as well. Again Wooden on the right side of history. I was only banned for being 2real
I was annoyed as fuck with all the United fans crying about that Son incident, and I hate Tottenham. I can understand Bungie's feelings, but please bring him back.
By Xpike Go To Postyou can argue wooden was banned due to american owners not understanding european fan culture
Underappreciated post, well done Xpike

The fucker broke Gomesâ leg yet made the incident all about him
What an absolutely sensational Libertadores night yesterday! By far our best performance of the season! We were in bad league form. Our only win our previous five matches was against a covid-depleted 7 man squad that only showed up to play to avoid a fine and points deduction. We missed a penalty kick in our weekend game and drew 2-2 instead of winning. We fell from first place as a result and Emelec jumped us. To go to Brazil and boss last season's Libertadores runners-up the way we did, we needed that kind of performance so badly.
Don't know what's going happen now though since the national Emergency Operations Committee has now ruled against football on the weekends. League games will now be Monday through Friday. They don't want people getting together to watch games during the weekend. I don't know how they're going to make this work with 5 of our teams playing Libertadores and Sudamericana.

By Cleff Go To PostAren't Madrid signing Alaba on wages of like 350k per week?So you're telling Flo to spend less on candles?
Maybe don't do that instead?
By Pedja Go To PostHoly shit, a 96th minute pelanty. I checked the score at the 93rd and assumed you lost. How many games are left to play?6 games, we are 7 points ahead but Porto plays tonight.
We play Braga on Sunday and out second to last game is against Benfica. Porto plays Benfica in two weeks.
Anything can happen, we can actually finish the season unbeaten and still lose it.

I thought Bungie left due to the situation at Spurs and Mou?
bit weird to lay his departure at the feet of united fans who reached the same conclusion as every pundit, commentator and general consensus watching the game.
I hope with Mou's departure he can return.

Perezâs comments have pretty much confirmed that City reluctantly joined last and were first to withdraw.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed that Manchester City were reluctant partners in the doomed European Super League venture.
And the Spanish tycoon indicated that it was the Blues - the last club of the 12 âfounder membersâ to sign up - who were the first to get cold feet at the landslide of opposition to the idea, with their own fans among the critics.
Their decision to pull out, less than 48 hours after the ESL had been announced - after manager Pep Guardiola and several players expressed opposition - was quickly followed by Chelsea, and within hours the whole edifice had crumbled.
Perezâs words give truth to City chief Ferran Sorianoâs assertion, in his apology to the fans, that the decision was taken in good faith, and only because they feared the alternative was to be left out in the cold.
Perez, who was chairman of the ESL and its main mover, initially said he was not about to name the club that was not committed to the idea, but when pressed he said: âThe one from Manchester saw the campaign saying this will kill the leagues, that it wonât allow merit, that it was the end of football.

I think the right thing for Uefa to do now is to ban the teams who are still hanging onto this Super League project from all European competitions for the rest of the season.

We already know the only reason City pulled out was due to the British govt. putting diplomatic pressure on the UAE. Not sure why revisionisms on this are being discussed?

Iâd say thereâs real merit to the whole reluctance to join thingy.
Yes, because they have what they want already. They joined to clean up the image of their human rights and environmental abuses, and if there are financial restrictions aimed at evening the playing field between state-sponsored teams and privately owned, it doesnât serve them. They want to be the big fish in the small pond.
lol @ everyone here trying to come out looking good
Just take the L and move on people, it's not that hard
Just take the L and move on people, it's not that hard
Any goodwill that may have been earned by City from being reluctant to join evaporated the second they joined anyway, and that's even before considering the reasons why they were reluctant to join which no doubt would have had fuck all with preserving the football pyramid and fair competition

It was for the love of football
Ah, we reluctantly tried to kill fitba, we're the good guys. We had reservations as we thrust the knife in
Has this been posted? I agree with this take. Iâm very much against the ESL, but Iâm even more against the furor with which people with moneyed interest in maintaining the status quo, who had no problems bastardizing the game when it benefited their pocket books, have responded. Claiming theyâre doing it to back the âfansâ is hypocritical filth.
Now, Milanâs ultras group the Curva Sud have released a statement on the matter that hit out at the world of football in general.
âHonestly, it makes us laugh to see all those people in the control room of football suddenly claim we fans are first and foremost. The Super League is just the latest in a long line of innumerable manoeuvres over decades that has made football into a business,â they said (via FI).
âThe birth of this new competition would certainly be another shove to the football of old, which is by now a distant memory, and will inevitably obscure the tradition of the various national leagues, robbing football of the undeniable principle of sporting meritocracy.
âBut the thing that most leaves us indignant is the hypocrisy of all those who contributed to making this sport nothing but a business, those who today stand up in name of the fans, but only because they saw their remunerative and seemingly untouchable project fall apart.
âFootball did belong to the people until the 1990s, when the Champions League was born, destroying the old European Cup. From that moment, an unbreachable chasm has been created between the big and small clubs.
âFootball did belong to the people even when nobody lifted a finger to stop the increase of ticket prices that was imposed by some Presidents.
âFootball did belong to the people even when nobody stepped in to stop the rise of the super agents, who took player salaries to ever more astronomical figures, which could only be sustained with TV rights, the same TV companies that imposed increasingly chaotic fixture lists, with games on improbable days and kick-off times.
âFootball did belong to the people even when rules were imposed to stop any rapport between the players and the fans.
âFootball did belong to the people even when Supercoppa Finals were played on other continents or the dates of some games were changed a few days before kick-off, damaging those fans who had booked trains or planes to get to the stadium.
âFootball did belong to the people even when some clubs were allowed to circumvent Financial Fair Play, while others with less influential Presidents were penalised.
âFootball did belong to the people even when the World Cup was forced to Qatar in 2022, despite moving the entire calendar and disregarding human rights violations.
âWe could list numerous other examples to show the absolute hypocrisy of the words weâre hearing from the football chiefs over the last 48 hours.
âThe Super League is just the latest disgusting step, but those who took football to this point are no less grotesque, so save us these ludicrous performances of rhetoric and morality.
âNow that the money is running out, feel free to fight it out between yourselves, but donât you dare name the fans. PIGS!â
There's a few stories going around that Joel Glazer was the main driving force behind United joing the ESL and that Woodward is the fall guy. I don't believe them tbh. He's willingly done everything the Glazer's ever wanted.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostBless uncle Flo for giving us 1 more year of ModricHow can it be? They have no money, heard that Flo was begging for money in the streets.
Martins I don't know if you've noticed, but Sporting's downturn in form started at the same time Newcastle's form improved.
I do think the two things are linked.
Look, I know you really want to win the league...but I really want to stay in the Premier League. So how about we say, this season, we stay up...you don't win the league. I mean, second is still one hell of an achievement and there's always next year...
