Partey hasn't really brought the defensive solidity I thought he would. Not entirely his fault as he's been injured a bit. But you'd expect better.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostWell fought at least.
Arsenal were truly shit. Still fuming about how we played against them both times, that's why I wanted to get them again in EL even though it's "boring".

Idk, everything I've seen of Partey suggests he's been pretty good overall. Would not be looking in his direction as far as Arsenal's problems go.
Like I don't think he's been bad for Arsenal. But rather he hasn't brought them up a level like I thought he would when he signed for them.
Crashing out the FA cup has really instilled a positive winning mentality into the lads. Arteta you genius.

By Willkiller Go To PostCrashing out the FA cup has really instilled a positive winning mentality into the lads. Arteta you genius. We would have had a pretty easy run for another final as well. But that maybe can cost his job now, which is a positive. I'd sack him after this season if he doesn't win the EL, which he won't.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostThis account been talking alot lately.
Speaking of United, there's some talk that they offered us 40M€ + Alex Telles on loan for 2 years for Nuno Mendes.
Doubt Telles would want to go to us. Still, there's been a lot of talk about the Manchester clubs chasing Mendes, think also Real Madrid.

Went from down 0-2 to a 2-2 draw. Gladly take it, still unbeaten and smoking top of the league cigarettes.
I think Arteta set the team up badly today but he's shown he can be a good manager imo, just needs to sort out the inconsistency and get some more of his own signings in (I like what I've seen of Partey and Gabriel so far).
I dunno, I think some of you are being too harsh, Liverpool were just better than us on the day. Fabinho being back in midfield is huge for them, best DM in the league.
But we absolutely need to win the EL, no ifs, no buts.

Idk where Arsenal are going to get the money for a revamp under Kroenke. And Saka is the only good major saleable asset.
I think Arsenal are on a bad spot. The closest they came to the league title in past 10 years they ended 10 points behind Leicester, the most impressive European run they had in years ended with them being trashed 4-1 by Chelsea in the final of the Europa League, the chances of getting a Champions League place are low, they have a high wage bill, 4 of the highest paid players in the Premier League are Arsenal players and any top class player that is willing to go to Arsenal will want to be paid in that range.
In most cases, the solution would be to take a risk on the national market and in academy players but the Premier League market is ridiculously expensive and I don't know how good Arsenal's academy is.
I don't think Arteta is good enough for Arsenal but I don't see many promising managers willing to go to Arsenal.
The money isn't there to rebuild the squad to level of Arsenal's legacy.

Of course not but when you are in 9th place, there were definitely more low level performances than high.

This was in response to Dean when he said Arteta just needs to sort out the consistency. I’m sure everyone here wants their club to be able to replicate their best performances as often as possible, but it’s not so simple

Yes, I agree, the issue is what can you do to get more consistency? Do you buy better players? Do you do more in training to iron out the mistakes defensively? Some players just have it in them.
People here thinking we are a super team like ManCity/RealM/Barca/Bayern/Utd. We were never consistently on that level.

I’m not a elite level manager so I don’t really know what you need to do as a manager to extract the best from your players every week. But there’s a multitude of different factors which are going to affect the level of performance going into every game, and not all of them you can control to the same degree
Arteta is not good enough for Arsenal and I’m baffled as to why anyone would think differently. Done fuck all since he came in.
Bummed I missed the game, stayed up till it began at 4am and lasted only 10 mins
Will have to watch today on demand

We will most likely finish on the bottom half of the table.
We won't even hit 50 points in the league.
No european football next season.
Even myself, who have never witnessed Arsenal winning a tier 1 trophy, can't believe how bad we are at the moment. I've never thought we would reach such a low point.
Arteta is living out of our incredibly lucky run on the FA Cup. His half a season last year was AWFUL on the league and Europa, don't forget that.
So far his league season is beyong laughable, threw the FA Cup, got humiliated by City in the league cup and already could have been knocked out by weaker teams in EL.
This is simply not acceptable.
But I also agree it will be hard to change things around with our board.
Very dark times ahead if you're an Arsenal fan.

Awful performance last night. Still don’t give a fuck if we play European football or not next year, but to see us play like that was hugely disheartening. Worst performance since Pre Chelsea. I can’t see anything positive from that game.
Arteta could say he was without three of his four best players, and then the other one gets injured, but that was just pathetic. Liverpool were shit, but we had nothing to counter them.
Arteta’s priority has to be a third CM to rotate with Xhaka and Partey, Dani and Elneny are just not able to hack it.
Nothing has changed for me, still willing to give Arteta another window and a campaign with fans in the stand.

By inky Go To PostYou used to be the team we were most scared of in the Premier.Bruh those were the golden years. You guys also used to be scared of Liverpool at one point.
I can see the logic with Arteta as manager, but it definitely isn’t working. I think it’s much more so a problem of player recruitment than it is the manager
I've said for years we cannot play football with xhaka. I think he's missed like 12 games over last three seasons in epl and we've not got many points without him.
I don't think arteta tells them to go and play like that but tells kids something completely different. Kids just execute plan much better.
Arteta is perfectly fine and capable imo. No quick fix and I don't think he's done a bad job at all, if we are having this conversation next season fine.

Even Union Berlin can afford a good coach. Just stop looking for big names and look for talented ones.

If I was running Arsenal I would do everything I can to attract Allegri and replace Arteta. Arsenal need to be more ruthless and cunning with their ask from their players/coach, someone isn't delivering? Get out. No room for incompetence. Arsenal can afford to do this as they're still rebuilding from the Wenger era, find what clicks and stick with it.
Should have got Rodgers tbh
I know people can overstate the importance of captains, but I wouldn't be at all happy to have Aubemyang captaining the team I support.
