By markao Go To PostThe car in front, if the disputed line is the DRS detection line, will always needs to slow down more and earlier (brake) to not cross it. Not quite sure why that line was excepted as the disputed point, when all is asked to give a position back and the guy in front is never going to do that some where that benefits the guyI don’t think it’s an explicitly disputed point, if I’m understanding correctly, but it provides context on why neither driver wanted to cross the line first. As you said though, nothing penalty.

As you said though, nothing penalty. What I meant with that, was they are driving ridicously slow, on the racing line, in one of the fastest almost blind corners on track and why that was allowed in the name of "the disputed drs detection line". (they understood why no one wanted to go 1st)
I would have slapped them both around a little with the event notes, that state that you aren't allowed to slow down in t22/23 because thats dangerous and would both give them a reprimand for that.
If the argument from stewards is that Lewis is allowed to also slow down on the track and pick point to overtake, than Max is at fault, as he slowed down to erraticly and deserved penalty.

Without having watched the race and only reading the comments here, seems like Max is causing crashes again?
Not a Hamiliton, but at least he races fair.
Hopefully, Ferrari can return to glory next year and save the sport.

The only good thing about this event was a comment from Wurz about the incident. Just take away the DRS functioning from the guy that gives back the position and the shenanigans stop. Introduce next year please and also would introduce a minimum time (corners) after the running wide/ push of track happens, drivers mostly know when they are wrong. If they don't do it with in a few corners, to the stewards we go.
Wouldn't call Lewis (or rbr/merc bosses) fair this race, just smarter with what you just can away with and not, more expierenced. And as always great rule of thumb, the guy in the faster car is the cleaner one, less desperation moves.
Max more blunt about it and even though there is nothing against " I have to try and not giving up", when there are others on track having to avoid your "not getting it right", you might turn it down a little.
And the stewards and Massi also need to rethink their approach, cause a lot of it was due to the way they (not)dealt with recent incidents and created this almost free for all racing (free get out of jail cards).

He cost Mercedes a great deal with Kingspan, bad bad Lewis...............yeah, that was never going to stay after all the commotion it attracted in the UK.
And for our Dutch F1 fans and EPL/Bundeslol, new Deal with NENT and cost, 13.99€ a month, less than I expected and available online or KPN/Ziggo, so bigger range for the sport (Zandvoort GP free on NOS + more time for Q/R highlights). Similar range that Ziggo asked in the past (had more sports) and compared to what our foreign members have to pay, don't think there is a lot to complain about, or not yet ;)

Last on and the way this year has gone, hard to imagine a non drama event and guy finishing ahead wins title (unless out side top 10, or unless Lewis 9 and Max 10 and fastest lap).
Track changed T5 (chicane also gone) & 9, lot faster so should suit Mercedes more, should be able to lower their rear more on straights (no real high speed corners) and unless they run in to rear temp issues in the last part, for me a Lewis win.
Than again they way this season went I might well be ending in some form of "no more power, no more power" and only one of the two making the finish.

Would be OK with either of them winning, think both can make the claim they drove well enough to deserve it. Mercedes probably the slightly better car on more tracks, but even then the gap mostly within driver abilities or tactical choices to try and make up for it.
So if I had to pick one, than let Honda win it. Think it is a real shame that after so many years of problems, they almost closed the gap and without the Silverstone crash probably would have gone through the season without penalties, they leave the sport. So a "engine problems, engine problems" to add to this seasons drama for Mercedes and Honda leaving with a title, could live with that.

Haha, this is exemplary for the state of Hamilton fans right now. You simply can’t hate it. Ignorance is bliss.
both are wonderful drivers. I support Lewis activism and Max is well growing as a person
for the sport would like for Max to win as he would have won in a worse car.
but if Lewis wins, it will be ok as well.

I am sensing a lot of drama ahead though.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostWhat's your actual prediction? Hard to make predictions before the practice sessions.Well the track suits the Merc so if the race goes without a hitch Hamilton will win. However Verstappen defends without compromise as is his right as a racing driver so it could easily end up in tears. I honestly predict a race ending incident between Hamilton and Verstappen.

With further changes to the track in the latter stages of the lap, it is hard not to see Merc win here on race pace (front tire load/wear). So Max either needs pole or lead after lap 1 and some strat luck to beat Lewis here, but still hard to see that happen as overtaking with all the DRS section and changes should be relatively easy.
Lewis did similar lap to Max, but just ran few cm wide last corner, so track limits time deletion.

Merc quicker single lap, lot slower long runs (slow on straights assume engine mode turned down a lot). Max first long-run on the reds, which makes me believe that RBR will go for two stop, as they feel they will have no change on single stop (to much tire wear compared to Merc).
Alpine one of those mega quick Fridays, but expect that to be mostly a last Friday engine hoorah, will see in Q tomorrow.
Kimi saying goodbye in style, crash and FP2 red flag.

That Sky Sports commercial is something aye lol. At first I only read a headline about it and assumed it would be a quick highlight in a montage. But it’s actually just the crash with a ‘merry Christmas’ message edited on top. Talk about class haha. I really hate how some Dutch analysts are in regards to max (as in always in favor no matter what) but this stuff is on a whole new level haha.

FP3
Not sure if just afternoon heat or that the higher pressures (concerned Pirelli) caused some overheating tire issues, but drivers were complaining about overheating rears. S1/S2, Lewis to strong, so hard to see Max making that up in the final sector, so money would be on Lewis pole. If overheating is pressure related, might have an impact on the race strats. (,ore likely 2 stop?)
