That’s just cruel

By Eternity Go To PostHamilton should be penalised for hitting Max. FIA dropped the ball here. They're waiting for a +10 sec gap between Ham and Ver so they can give Ham a 5 sec penalty after the race.
By markao Go To Postinvestigated after the race, no?Let's see what the telemetry says about what both drivers were doing in that incident. Could be a huge decision.

What a race man
Win 7 championships and they just let you crash into a Championship rival with no penalty. Nice "race"

But boy, what a year, what a year
I can't support max dangerous driving or Merc's superior car.
I just wish the rules were clear with all the off track shit that has been going on.

That entire collision was so confusing. I don’t think it was a break test, not really sure I’m seeing it the way Merc are, but also if the telemetry shows Max breaking and accelerating that’s a little dodge. Wouldn’t be surprised if Lewis takes a pen there, I think I’m leaning more to that than Max getting another pen. Entirely weird scenario though.
Also think the penalty Max did get was both correct, and also absolutely no worse than the incident in Brazil, so I just don’t understand the lack of consistency.

This Mercedes logic that Lewis didn't know Max was letting him through makes no sense. I don't know how Hamilton became a 7 time WDC without knowing he can overtake cars during a race. I'm also surprised how he survives every race, so many lapped cars slowing down on the racing line to let him through and he never crashes, truly a miracle.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostDude probably assumed it was another vsc and thought that Max was luring him into overtaking.Terrible excuse if that is what they go with.
I’m guessing he didn’t want to overtake in a space that gave Max a chance to immediately overtake again with DRS. Merc were told after RB and Max that Max was being told to give up the spot, so I don’t think he knew that’s why Max was slowing.
Doesn’t excuse ending up in his rear though. Telemetry will tell whether it was a break check, but it definitely doesn’t look like it on video

So.. Hamilton actually admitted that he didn't want to regain the position at that point? He should get an Oscar for his performance this evening..
“Breaked suddenly and significantly”
That does sound like Max’s fault then, it’s Lewis’ prerogative to not overtake there, and FIA think Max breaking that hard causes the crash.

Joke decision, just saw the telemetry. Max did nothing wrong, they just want as many eyes on the final race as possible.

By JesalR Go To Post“Breaked suddenly and significantly”The car in front, if the disputed line is the DRS detection line, will always needs to slow down more and earlier (brake) to not cross it, not saying Max should have done it more gentle. Not quite sure why that line was excepted as the disputed point, when all is asked to give a position back and the guy in front is never going to do that some where that benefits the guy behind.

But like I thought, the absolute non penalty they could give is given.
