Still looking back at last weekends drive lads; that was one of the best drives we have ever seen from a driver. I know some of us don't like Hammy but m8's I've never seen anything like that. Max defended brilliantly and still couldn't stop Hammy. Max drove Hammy off the track and somehow never got a 5 sec pen. Fuck what a race.
Discounting points for fastest laps, if Hamilton wins the next two races which he has a good chance with his current form and new engine, then him and Max will be level on points going into the final race.

I don’t think Lewis as a total package is better than Schumacher, but there is no doubt he is the single most unstoppable driver I have seen when he sets his mind to something.
There is always just an inevitable sense that if he is chasing someone down, he will do it.
There have been some incredible drivers in the history of the sport but Hamilton is definitely up there sharing the very very top spot with former GOATs

Impossible to compare different eras, different machinery, rules, seasons in general were much shorter back then in terms of amounts of races too.
Hamilton has bossed this generation. With Rosberg the only blip in his run of titles.
Before that of course you had the Vettel domination, which was impressive too.

FP3
Merc opening up that gap to RBR, specially S1 and the rest, if they have that pace later tonight (cooler), than RBR's only remaining hope is the start.
Gasly again best of the rest

By FortuneFaded Go To PostWhat happened to McLaren? Since Sochi, they’ve been nowhereFerrari pu upgrade and tracks that did not suit them, means instead of p5/6 you are quickly fighting for 9/10

5 podiums for the season in a championship challenging car is so poor when you consider his competition for the last spot is Bottas.
Just stick Gasly back in.

95% chance of being demolishid by Max every race again
Just have a little patience and maybe nick a Mclaren / Ferrari seat in the near future
Gasly was mentaly broken, cannot see that change, maybe bit better, but will be hard again for him. Still better than Sergio, so maybe after another year
Lewis with errors in S1 still fastest so should be pole
Max just ahead of Valteri

Max maximising and on to start
Gasly bit to confident, but gets p4 and Lando ahead of Ferrari, but on the reds tomorrow
Gasly wing damage and tire done

Great Mercedes form till end of year so the championship seems to be leaning to that side. Dissapointing Perez performance
Grid tomorrow, as almost everyone from Q3 that was behind Gasly was summoned to the stewards. (Max,Valteri, Carlos and maybe Norris, Vettel)
Looks like race control gave clear, but one Marshall post was still weaving flags, so stay tuned.

Was out all of today and missed quali, didn’t realise the Merc wasn’t using the new engine. I know qualifying pace != race pace, but how are they half a second up?

Gasly caused an yellow flag making everyone abort their 2nd lap. Id guess Max would still be like 3 tenths up and Bottas couldve (shoudlve really) nicked 2nd place.
By Lunatic Go To PostYou just noticing that now? Hamilton almost always does things like this.I only got back into watching F1 last year m8.

It certainly was a good drive. But when you're driving a literal rocket compared to everyone else on the track it's hard to call that one of the best drives we've ever seen. He was literally impossible to defend with that extreme overspeed on the straights. It totally makes sense that we can all admire what he did in Brazil (Lewis and Max fans alike). Despite having a good car you still have to drive without making mistakes to actually do it. Considering the immense pressure Lewis is under he did a great job at that. But let's not forget to put things into perspective before we call this an historic event and one of the best drives in the sport ever.
Love how much you hate Hamilton lmao. You’re so mild mannered and chill usually but you want to crush his brain into smithereens.
Lol, I'm praising Lewis here for doing a great job under immense pressure. Which is exactly what made things difficult. But politely putting things into perspective. His car ran 30km/h faster on the straight compared to his nearest competitor. That is literally impossible to defend. So I think it's rough to say we've witnessed one of the best drives of a driver ever. Which is extreme high praise.
I mean the week before Max ran away with it in Mexico and drove 16 seconds clear of Lewis. That was a good job but also hardly one of the best drives ever. The RB is simply cut out for the track and Max performed to the best of his abilities by driving an error free GP.
As for hating Lewis? Not really. Sure, it's easy to dislike the guy winning everything for so many years. But in the end the driver Lewis is a great driver. This season especially shows how much better Lewis and Max are compared to any other driver on the grid aside from the fact that they both have a great car. I do dislike some aspects of Lewis though. Mostly his whiny behavior (which goes for a lot of drivers including Max). His Silverstone performance this season was a new low. And I'm sure if Max grows to be the new Lewis on the block winning back to back titles we'll see more annoying behaviour coming from Max as well. Vettel was a cunt for many years too and look at him now in the Aston.
I've been watching this sport since the nineties with some breaks in between. It's always important to put things into perspective and as someone already mentioned it's hard to compare different eras due to technological progression. But no one can deny that Lewis is one of the best drivers we've seen. Funnily enough I feel like the Rosberg season actually underlines that the most. To be beaten Lewis needed an opponent that dedicated every fibre of his body to beating him. Even while driving the same car.
