FIA, drivers and teams approved the sprint races. Let's see if it is beneficial for the season and especially us spectators.

Round 2, cold and maybe wet Imola (Sunday), hopefully as close as last race weekend.
Great track and curious to how order lines up on a high-speed/balanced set-up track and if RBR also has it's head just ahead of Merc. Midfield, last year extra (filmday) laps helped AT, let see if they can do that again and be best of the rest in a fight with McLaren and Fer. (cannot see Alpine or Aston improve so quickly).

No tv feed for 10 minutes, no on-boards, no data (also for teams) entire session so hard to tell what happened all the time, because of power outage somewhere in Brexit land
Usual Imola gravel offs and and incident between Perez and Ocon, but no footage so hard to guess what precisely happened ( think Ocon on slow lap, Perez hit him somehow). Red flag and all cars on softer tires last few minutes trying to find some free air. All cars general look better behaved than 3 weeks ago. lets see if long runs give away a little about order this weekend.

Max tech issue in the middle of medium runs, similar pace to Mercs up until than and he did no red/long run, so hard to know for sure (Perez is so far copying Albon in pace), but looks close. Gasly and Ferrari (fastest lap Charles ran wide , deleted) looks fastest midfield, but they (charles/Carlos) were pushing really hard (inter nr1 alpha male stuff) and Charles went of on his long run.
Bottas fastest lap on mediums, as they struggled again on the reds (did not make up the time others did), but maybe they fuelled up after Max stopped to not show their hand, will see tomorrow.
Charles off:
Max car isssue (driveshaft)
And Otmar is seriously loosing it, guess that's happens when Stroll sr is your boss.

It looks like it is to cold to get enough temp in the fronts to be comfortable and they loose some performance in the 2nd run. Lot of understeering cars, times deleted (t9 understeer), so we might see double warm-up laps if temp doesn't rise enough in the afternoon.
Overall messy session with a lot of car finding, curbs, grass and gravel, but looks like its going to be close.
Happy yuki in 2 acts:
Spins
Gio
Latifi
My back hurts
And Perez/Ocon from yesterday:

Yuki zigged when he should've zagged.
I love these old school unforgiving tracks but for the mechanics it must be a pain in the ass.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostBoth Williams on mediums, so they are going to settle for 14th & 15ththat aged well, shame about 2nd run for some
By markao Go To Postthat aged well, shame about 2nd run for someThey would have been 14th and 15th if they had stayed on the mediums
