By Lunatic Go To PostAgreed, this year has been on a different level. Now for Mercedes to be a second ahead of the field next year.

F1 would hold a Taliban GP if they had the money. They throw all the slogans and rainbows around because it’s easy and can still do stuff like this.
Looks like there has been a compromised reached about new 2026 engine rules. No MGUH, more powerful MGUK and only rear axle recovery.
By dropping the most complex part, H, the engine becomes a lot less complicated, meaning cheaper and easier adjustable to different types of fuel (switch to syntactic fuels).
Probably means big chance that Porsche and Audi (both VW concern, cost sharing, the same business model they used in long distance racing) will finally enter.
Still a lot left open, biggest seams to be cost level (budget) differences.

By Anya Taylor-Sad Go To PostSpecial livery this week?Should have been Suzuka weekend and a goodbye from Honda to its fans.
Last year race was low grip track and cold, they high press water cleaned the tarmac, so hopefully more grip this time around. Hard to call based on last year, Merc struggling with tire temps on short run, so we will have to wait and see (looks close on track lay-out). Some rumours about Lewis picking an additional PU and grid penalty here, we will see.
If it is 1/2 as exiting as last year it is going to be great and rain threat is there again

1) Red Bull Powertrains has the right to use Honda’s IP relating to the Power Unit.
2) Honda will support Red Bull Powertrains in building the 2022 PU and also provide trackside and race operation support from Japan throughout the 2022 season, and from 2023, Red Bull Powertrains will take responsibility for all manufacturing and servicing of Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri’s engines.
3) Employees of Honda Racing Development UK (Milton Keynes) will become employees of Red Bull Powertrains
FP1:
Pirelli brought a softer compound this year (c4), but it looks to soft for this track, which is back to normal grip levels. So lot of teams already went through two sets of reds, as tire wear is just to much on them to be really useful in the race. Looking like a front limited race, so Merc with the extra race pace and just what Lewis ordered for the weekend. As he takes a new ICE and 10 places grid penalty, but podium should still be on, if he stays out of trouble at the start.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostAre Ferrari legit?to early to call, so ask me again after FP3 ';)
Lot of complaining about front tires not working on the short runs and for those that it did, Charles, it looked like it took to much out of the tire in the long run (if they get that under control, podium should be possible). Merc mega on long run, good pace and front tires looked a lot better than on any other car. Max unhappy about balance, looks like RBR got the grip level of the track very wrong and they have a long night ahead to find some pace.
Very different conditions for P3 today.
Feel for redbull if they stayed up all night prepping the car for the grippy dry surface

Fuck disney.
They have shut down Star Sports in Korea in anticipation of Disney+ coming next month.
Was how I had been watching F1 this year. Hopefully there is a viewing option when it launches.
Can’t use F1Tv in Korea.
Back to 3 minute delays.

As mentioned from wets, to inters and to dry for inters, but not dry enough for slicks. Last year in qualie sims in dry FP3, they went just below 1.30, , shows how much more grip there is this year. No more rain this afternoon, so dry qualie, might start on damp track.
Those with set-ups issues, RBR for example, probably needed dry track and will go in to Q session with question marks.
Some spins/offs, mostly early inter runners.

Track "dry" now, but there might still be shower hitting track, would not surprise me any more this year:P
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostHahaha, yes Sainz. Why is he even bothering with qualifying? Risking the car for nothing.
By KP Go To PostDid they bring Ric in for a fresh set or just hang him out to dry?app does not show it for guys out of Q1, so don't know

I’m guessing just data for Charles, and for the lolz.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostHamilton complains about tyres, gets fastest lap
Pretty sure at this point it is just to show how great he is.
Getting the best out of a bad situation.
usual's, ferrari with unnecessary tow and Lando could have pitted and George with an unusual error ................... for a Saturday.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostConditions look a bit wetdef inters
so fitting for this year, no normal races
