What a trash sport. At least cricket has a sort of pageantry to it.

Just read on the Athletic that Layton Stewart, the next big Liverpool youth prospect, did his ACL last week. Sad.
Also not so cool that the three strikers that came through the ranks have had such bad injuries - Brewster and Glatzel the others.

Uneven sides of bracket may introduce some chaos and unexpected finalists but at the expense of enjoyment and quality. I won’t name names but there was a final lately that was boring af.
Could even be done more than 2 top seeds on opposite sides, like 1, 3, 5, 7 on one side and 2, 4, 6, 8 on the other side.
How are we calling that american? We have already accepted seeding as a means of creating a fairly even competition, it’s only the extent of it that is in discussion.

By Xpike Go To Postso instead of a boring final, we just get knock out rounds where there's a clear winner intended every matchGroup standings not always reflect seedings. Ranking =/= real value, and in the final 8 the differences aren’t that steep anymore between all the teams. Only a few outliers.

Bayern-PSG wasn’t exactly a smorgasbord of excitement despite the quality of both sides
Largely, I think the final is mostly a disappointing game of football. Semis are usually better anyway
Batongen, control your people.
"the best eye-test teams should be seeded" is the worst fucking thing I've read in quite some time regarding football.

But seriously though, it’s all just very tentative. It won’t always be true.

I won’t name names but there was a final lately that was boring af.you're kinda right if we're optimising for getting the best teams to the final...... but let's be honest, finals are mostly disappointing even with the best teams. so really you should be optimising to get the worst teams there. i'd rather have it play out as it currently is, and if this way you get two legs of bayern vs city then even better.

What is there even to say? I expected relegation when Bruce was appointed. I was surprised we avoided it with relative ease last season, I'm not surprised this season.
What is surprising is Ashley's complete unwillingness to act on it. I genuienly don't understand the angle?

I guess for as long as it looked like he was 17th or above, he had someone who was never going to walk or challenge his authority, while he didn’t have to pay up or show any ambition, particularly while no fans are attending.
24 league games, 20 wins, 4 draws, 11 goals conceded, 15 clean sheets and we had a 16 year old making his league debut. What a season.

A running mate of mine fled to Dubai just before Christmas and can't come back because of current covid restrictions (poor fella).
Apparently he entertained himself by striking a friendship with Mr Jonas 'Basshunter' Altberg as that's where he is living. Wonder what they dance to 🤔

One of the most incredible stories of this season. I had no idea who Dário Essugo was when he was called up to train with the main team this week.
Turned 16 last Sunday, came on for the last 10 minutes of a difficult match against 6th placed Vitória de Guimarães with just a 1 goal lead, game nowhere near of being safe.
Just look how it means to him, he broke the league record of youngest debut ever.
Fucking love Rúben Amorim to have the balls to put him on, it sends a clear message to youngsters in our academy and those thinking about what club to choose that if they are good and work hard, they will have a chance to play for Sporting.
Hope the board and, more importantly, the fans have patience with Amorim if things go wrong.
We could be on the way of a winning project, something truly special that can put us back on top with the other 2 rivals.
Edit: because this story just keeps getting better, here's a photo of Dário with João Mário in 2015.
6 years later, João Mário was subbed off for Dário to make his debut.

It's fine if you don't like it I was just joking, but why are you implying it isn't a sport? Pretty weird take I see Americans say the same thing about football and it's just as perplexing.
Cricket is like football taken to an extreme in terms of having long, long stretches where it feels like nothing is happening. The game-changing events are much more of a given obviously, but you can get periods of incredible tension.
Its in a weird spot where test cricket is the best form imo, but I find it the least appealing one to watch.

By batong_nr1_rangers_fan Go To PostProbably for the best. While I doubt he'll suffer the precipitous decline of someone like Ozil, he's only going to get worse as time goes and Liverpool have plenty of experience in the middle.
At least he gets to play with the goat griezmann
