Swapped over after the 1st goal. Can't believe Barca didn't score there.. Dembele just has to get a leg out.

By Pennywise Go To PostI still don't understand why the fuck they put Dembele up front instead of putting him on the wing.Wasn't he on the wing in the first half?
By batong_nr1_rangers_fan Go To PostNext seasono you willNot watching it until the semis even if we're in it.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostWasn't he on the wing in the first half?I'm watching simulcast, so I'm kinda switching between games. Always seen Dembele up front and not really on the wing.

Amazing that we make goalscoring look like the most difficult thing on earth and then in 5 minutes the easiest. Hopefully this helps us wake up in the PL.
By Meier Go To PostPSG without a touch inside Barca's penalty area in the 2nd half. That's quite a stat.
A PSG side that can do this kind of sitting in as well as the other stuff they can obviously do should be concerning for other teams.

Welp. We're the only team in the league now, that has to play in 3 competitions.
By Meier Go To PostDembele wyd, lol. He's a mad man
I just know Moriba from his wonderkid status. Did not realize he was so tall (relatively).
By FootbalIFan Go To PostHe's a mad manLove a needless blind backheel lay off when I'm in a shooting position down 3 in the final 10 minutes of a CL knock out game.

There is no other player as good as Mbappe right now, maybe Haaland but he's still really raw it seems compared to Mbappe.
Mbappe is a finished product, he's the future of football without a doubt.

Looked like PSG had a child on the bench based on the handshakes there at the end. Young blonde kid, can't have been older than 16-17.

Barcelona played so well, De Jong and Busquets were easily the most outstanding.
The youngsters in the team did well too, the future on that front looks great.

Yes but also speaks volumes that your only goal came from an obscene Messi long ranger. (But ok sure he missed a pen)

This will be an interesting summer for Barca. They need a striker desperately.. if Aguero does leave, he'd be wise to take their offer. Anyone reasonable there in the right position today would have scored quite a few.

Still proud of the team and the the effort.
One thing that is slightly flawed about xG is that it doesn't take into account missed kicks. The Sterling whiff from the Kyle Walker ball for instance would not have yielded a high xG since he completely missed the ball. It's not a shot, it's not a completed cross, it's not a chance/big chance, etc. even though it was an undefended tap-in from a few yards out. So that level of granularity is not limited to xG of course -- the xG can only be as good as the data put into it and without that being a shot, it obviously can't be included.
In the Barca game for instance, that ball across the face where Dembele couldn't get a touch on it.. stuff like that isn't really quantified accurately. I'm not suggesting there's a method that exists now that would be better at including these kinds of moments, but I don't think it's aggressive enough so to speak.

By Cleff Go To PostBarto masterclass.Barto must have been a Madrid agent, yet somehow we still have been superior to their team in La Liga.

Also xG Philosophy is run by the kind of moron amateur that counts PKs in its xG.
Whether Messi stays or not, I will be happy either way.
Scenario 1). He stays and accepts a lower wage package. Helping out some youngsters in the progress of finding their role in the team.
Scenario 2). He leaves and joins an English club or Italian one for one last shot at the CL. Manchester United should go for him. Barcelona will undoubtly struggle but the youngsters coming through will come good eventually.
